Emmys 2016 Ratings Down 5% From Last Year's Show

The 2016 Emmy Awards ratings are in and they are down from 2015′s show.

Sunday night’s ceremony was watched by 11.3 million viewers, which is a 5% dip from last year’s numbers, EW reports. It is presumed that many wound up watching the Sunday Night Football game and coverage of the New York City and New Jersey bomb coverage.

The show, hosted by Jimmy Kimmel, did rank number one in “entertainment program of the night in adults 18-49.”

Social media lit up during the Emmys, with 2.7 million interactions on Facebook and Twitter.
