Nicholas Hoult & Lily Collins Talk 'Tolkien' Together on 'Late Show'!

Nicholas Hoult and Lily Collins made a joint appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Thursday night (May 2) in New York City.

The co-stars dished all about their new film Tolkien, which explores the formative years of the renowned author’s life as he finds friendship, courage and inspiration among a fellow group of writers and artists at school. Their brotherhood strengthens as they grow up and weather love and loss together, including Tolkien’s tumultuous courtship of his beloved Edith Bratt (Collins), until the outbreak of the First World War which threatens to tear their fellowship apart. All of these experiences would later inspire Tolkien to write his famous Middle-earth novels.

Nicholas and Lily also got into a debate with host Stephen about how to correctly pronounce J.R.R. Tolkien‘s last name.

Tolkien opens in theaters on May 10!
