Robert De Niro Announces That Tribeca Film Festival Will Return with In-Person Screenings

Robert De Niro is making an exciting announcement about the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival!

The 77-year-old actor and the event's co-founder Jane Rosenthal announced on Monday (March 29) that the festival would be returning this summer with live, in-person screenings.

According to EW, the 12-day festival will act as a "welcome back" for New Yorkers and the entertainment community and is being planned in collaboration with the New York State Department of Health.

While the lineup hasn't been revealed yet, this year's Tribeca is set to feature diverse programming and immersive exhibitions in addition to film-focused events. It will also include a commemoration of the Juneteenth holiday as part of the festival.

Robert said in a statement, "The Tribeca Film Festival was born out of our mission to bring people together in the aftermath of 9/11. We're still doing it."

"And as New York emerges from the shadow of COVID-19, it seems just right to bring people together again in-person for our 20th anniversary festival."

A famous rapper recently discussed what it was like working with Robert on their new movie.
