Caitlyn Jenner Exploring California Governor Run (Report)

Caitlyn Jenner is reportedly getting into politics.

The 71-year-old former reality TV star and Olympian is talking with political consultants about a potential run for governor of California, three sources “with direct knowledge” told Axios on Tuesday (April 6).

The governor of California, Gavin Newson, is likely facing a recall election.

Caitlyn, a Republican and former Donald Trump supporter, is being helped in her exploratory efforts by Caroline Wren, a longtime GOP fundraiser and former Trump Victory committee member, according to the report. They first met through work on the American Unity Fund, a GOP LGBT-focused nonprofit.

Republicans have launched a recall campaign against Gavin Newsom due to his immigration and tax policies, among other criticisms amid the pandemic.

Caitlyn has not yet publicly commented on the reports of her political aspirations.

Only a few weeks before, manager and friend Sophia Hutchins issued a statement denying earlier rumors of a political run.
