She wore a lavender dress and hat rather than a full ceremonial dress and crown for the event and sat alone on a throne in the House of Lords. The Imperial State Crown, which symbolizes the regalia of the Head of State, was placed next to her on a table.

In past years, there were two thrones at the event, one for the Queen and the other for her consort.

Prince Philip passed away last month after being hospitalized and undergoing open heart surgery.

Someone in the royal family recently opened up about Prince Philip‘s funeral and why family members were asked to leave after the service.
