Anthony Mackie Brags On Sebastian Stan Playing Tommy Lee in 'Pam & Tommy'

It was revealed that Sebastian Stan would be portraying Tommy Lee in Hulu’s upcoming, Pam & Tommy miniseries earlier this year.

While many fans now see why he was cast, upon hearing the news, Anthony Mackie didn’t know what to think either about his Falcon and the Winter Soldier co-star being cast.

Anthony admitted to press that he was actually horrified to learn about it!

“I was horrified. I was like, ‘What are you doing? You’re playing Tommy Lee?’” Anthony admitted while at Sunday’s MTV Movie & TV Awards to Variety.

He added that the “first picture [Sebastian] sent me, it’s just humbling when you see your friend, and he succeeds. And he crushed it. I mean, he really was able to transform, and that’s every actor’s dream with every role you play.”

Anthony went on, revealing that Sebastian also sent him a video from the set and he was “blown away. I was really surprised and impressed that he was able to do it.”

“Sebastian is a great actor, and him getting his just due,” he continued, raving about his pal. “And people being able to see him for the chameleon that he is—not just the beautifully amazing, blue-eyed god that he is—it’s very refreshing to see your friend win.”

Just recently, Anthony and Sebastian dished on being paired together in Marvel interviews and how it strengthened their friendship.
