Rachel Lindsay Broke Down In Tears On 'The Bachelorette' Over A Different Reason Than What Was Broadcast

Rachel Lindsay is dropping some new facts about her time on The Bachelorette in a new interview.

The 36-year-old attorney and former reality star spoke to comedian Ziwe Fumudoh on her Showtime variety show, Ziwe, and made a point to call out more of the franchise’s diversity issues.

“All three of the Black bachelors and bachelorettes have ended up with partners who are not of color,” Ziwe pointed out, and Rachel added that the show’s lack of diversity contributed to that outcome.

Rachel shared that it was “something I was worried about before I went on the show. I think I got a little bit more grace because I was the first and people were just excited that a person of color was in this role.”

She also revealed that one of the moments where she broke down on camera was because “I was getting upset at the selection of men of color”. However, the show used that for something else entirely.

Rachel also shared that throughout her season, she had learned that several of her suitors didn’t even “date Black women” and that the showrunners “found it interesting.”

“I said, ‘You think that’s interesting? That’s my life. I live that,’” she said.

Rachel, who has called out the franchise many times prior to this, officially left the Bachelor franchise after 100 episodes on her podcast.
