'The Bachelorette Australia' Casts First Bisexual Star With Both Men & Women Competing

Huge news for The Bachelor franchise!

The Bachelorette Australia announced on Wednesday (May 19) that they have cast Brooke Blurton to be the first openly bisexual star to lead the show. Brooke, 26, is also the first Indigenous woman to lead the franchise.

This will be the first time ever that both men and women suitors will be competing for Brooke‘s heart.

“I am so ready for this,” Brooke said in a statement via People. “Having the opportunity to choose my person and who I want in my life, is a truly unique and special experience.”

Brooke previously appeared on The Bachelor Australia back in 2018 competing for rugby player Nick Cummins, but she abruptly left the season early. She also appeared Australia’s Bachelor in Paradise in 2019.

“My perfect person is someone that loves me for me,” Brooke added. “I hope they offer shared values and compassion for others. All the dreamy things! I’m so excited and hope that I finally find that person I’ve been waiting for.”
