“Oprah, who?” Edward commented during a recent press opportunity with The Telegraph, via E!, while Sophie added with a laugh, “What interview?”

While the couple may have been joking, most of the royal family have remained mum on the situation involving Harry and Meghan‘s departure, apart from the official statement.

Sophie did speak about Oprah‘s popularity in England, which reportedly is not as much as one might expect: “You know, if you’re not into chat shows, there’s no reason why you should know who she is. Certainly not in this country, anyway.”

After Harry and Meghan stepped away from their duties, Edward and Sophie stepped their own up, taking on more appearances in the past months.

“Inevitably the spotlight and the focus falls on younger members as time goes on. We’ve plodded along doing what we’re doing, hopefully doing it well,” Sophie shared. “And then all of a sudden there’s a bit of a hiatus and things have changed a bit. Naturally, the media are looking for people to fill the so-called void. But you know, we have been doing this for what feels like a pretty long time!”

No matter the drama in the family, the Countess added that they “are still a family no matter what happens, we always will be.”

Edward and Sophie might one day inherit these titles.
