Jodie Comer Finally Opens Up About Her 'Star Wars' Role: 'It Was Spectacular'

Years after her appearance in 2019′s The Rise of Skywalker, Jodie Comer is finally speaking about her Star Wars role.

If you need a refresher, the 28-year-old actress appeared in a flashback scene as Rey’s mother, who was unfortunately murdered with Rey’s father as they protected her from her grandfather’s evil agenda.

Jodie admits that she hasn’t said anything before now because of how secret her role was.

“It was spectacular,” she shared with Entertainment Weekly. “But I had to keep that a secret for a long, long, long time.”

Jodie added that she only spent a day on set filming the scene, but described her role as “the most peculiar, incredible experience.”

“Hearing the detail that goes into the makeup and the costumes, it was so eye-opening,” she says. “Speaking about green screen and visual effects, when I got Star Wars, I was like, ‘They’ll probably be a lot that I don’t see.’ But these kind of figures, their mouths move and they were remote-controlled and there was so much there that you didn’t have to imagine.”
