Lil Nas X is opening up about what he thought of all the backlash to his recent hit song, “Montero (Call Me By Your Name)”.

The rapper appeared on Desus & Mero for an interview, and while taking a break from roller-skating, he opened up about the criticism.

“I really just wanted to corrupt the youth…I’m just kidding!” Lil Nas joked about the imagery he used for the music video that made a big statement.

Desus then asked him if he ever thought “that the outrage was going to reach the level it did? Because Fox News was on you every 10 minutes.”

“Even when I was playing the video I was like, ‘Oh this is definitely going to hit Fox News,’” Lil Nas admitted. “I definitely didn’t expect the outrage as much as it was at all, especially governors tweeting me. Like, ‘You’re a governor. You don’t have anything better to do?’”
