Adam Brody Reveals the Actor's Voice He Was Imitating While Acting in 'The O.C.'

Adam Brody says he cannot bear to watch himself on The O.C. because the entire time, he idolized another actor and emulated their entire way of speaking and delivering lines.

The 41-year-old actor – who portrayed Seth Cohen on the fan favorite series – is now revealing who that actor is (and once you find out, you’ll get it immediately!)

“The first half of my twenties, when I moved up to L.A., for most of The O.C., Vince Vaughn was my acting hero,” Adam said during his appearance on the “Life is Short With Justin Long” podcast. “To the point where I’m doing a terrible imitation of him for most of my twenties. I’ve since knocked that off. That was, a lot of my acting, for better or worse, in my twenties, is due to him.”

He added that his voice on the show sounds like “chipmunk Vince Vaughn,” saying, “Even though I’m mid-twenties, it sounds like I’m going through puberty still… I just watch it now and I’m like, ‘Settle down.’” He added that he “cannot bear” watching himself because of this.
