Hilarie Burton's Husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan Was Almost Cast on 'One Tree Hill'!

Hilarie Burton has revealed that her husband Jeffrey Dean Morgan actually auditioned for a role on One Tree Hill.

During her new podcast with Bethany Joy Lenz and Sophia Bush, Drama Queens, the 38-year-old actress shared that Jeffrey had told her he went out of a lead role on the show.

After being set up by mutual friends Jensen Ackles and his wife Danneel Harris, Jeffrey had told her that he auditioned for the role of Keith Scott.

Keith was ultimately played by Craig Sheffer, and was the younger brother of Dan Scott.

“When I met Jeff, he was like, ‘Oh, I auditioned for that show.’ I’m like, ‘Wait, what?’ My husband, Jeffrey, auditioned for [Craig] Sheffer‘s part,” Hilarie told her friends and former cast mates as they re-watch the show together.

She added, “He was like, ‘Yeah, you know, I liked the whole gritty garage guy, that edgy thing.’”

She then joked that had “Jeff shown up in those tight jeans that Sheff was wearing, I would have definitely had kids earlier!”

Hilarie and Jeffrey have two children, Gus, born in 2010, and daughter George, born in 2018. The couple officially married in 2019.
