Erika Jayne Slams Claims She's Using Divorce to 'Hide Assets' Amid Ongoing Legal Issues

During the latest episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills on Wednesday (July 14), the 50-year-old reality star addressed the accusations surrounding her legal issues and the timing of her divorce.

Here’s a little backstory: Erika filed for divorce from husband Tom Girardi after 21 years of marriage back in November 2020. Several weeks after the filing, Erika and the 82-year-old lawyer were sued for allegedly faking their divorce to embezzle money that was supposed to go to Tom‘s clients, who were families who lost loved ones in a 2018 Boeing plane crash.

During the latest RHOBH episode, Erika opened up about those claims.

“This sucks so bad,” Erika revealed. “The things that are being said are just wrong. People are believing them and they are everywhere and it’s terrible and I’m here by myself. What’s being said, it’s just insane, that my divorce is a sham. But nobody cares about the facts.”

Erika addressed the accusations that she left Tom “so I could help hide assets.”

“The answer is no,” Erika said.

Erika previously talked about leaving Tom, saying he “pushed me further and further out” of his life.

In a confessional, Erika called the entire experience “painful,” saying, “”It took a lot of courage to leave and it took two seconds for some a––hole to say it’s a sham and for everybody to believe it.”

A producer then asked Erika how she first found out about the Boeing 737 lawsuit.

“I can’t answer that,” Erika responded. “I don’t know why I would be named in a lawsuit I have nothing to do with.”

While talking to co-stars Kyle Richards and Lisa Rinna, Erika talked about all the labels she’s faced these past few months.

“When I filed this divorce, I was a gold digger,” Erika reflected. “This week you’re a conspirator. I mean, what the f––k?! And neither one of them are true…It’s a lot. It’s depressing.”

She then broke down in tears, pleading “I didn’t do this. I didn’t do this.”

Later in the episode, Erika said that she fears Tom‘s legal troubles might harm her reputation.

“People think that Erika Jayne brought down Tom Girardi, Tom Girardi brought down Tom Girardi,” Erika said. “I don’t want his actions to absolutely kill what I have created. I fear starting over. The only thing I have is my name and the hope that this is not where this ends for me.”

It was just recently revealed that Tom‘s embezzlement victims can now collect money from Erika.
