'Grease' Prequel Series About the Pink Ladies Is Definitely Happening - Read the Premise!

Paramount+ has given a series order to the upcoming Grease prequel series about the Pink Ladies!

The upcoming series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies was previously set up at HBO Max and then the streaming service decided not to move forward with the project. Paramount+ later picked up the show and now it has officially been given a green light.

The series will be an hour-long musical comedy with 10 episodes.

Variety reports that the prequel “takes place four years before Sandy and Danny’s relationship throws Rydell High into a tailspin. Before rock ‘n’ roll ruled and before the T-Birds were the coolest guys in school, four fed-up, outcast girls dare to have fun on their own terms and spark a moral panic that will change Rydell High forever.”

Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies will “highlight the rise of the original four Pink Ladies— Rizzo, Jan, Marty and Frenchy— long before they had to whip into shape the clean-cut new girl from Australia.”

The series is written and executive produced by creator Annabel Oakes, who previously worked on Atypical and Transparent.

An exciting movie was just added to Paramount+ just 45 days after it was released in theaters.
