'Even Stevens' Star Christy Carlson Romano Reveals She's 5 Years Sober

Christy Carlson Romano is opening up about her sobriety.

The 37-year-old Even Stevens star revealed that she is five years sober in a video she shared to TikTok on Sunday (July 18).

The clip features Christy lip-syncing the lyrics to “Know Yourself” by Drake.

“Graduated from [an] IVY league [school], sober for 5 years, have 2 daughters,” the text reads across the screen as she sings, “I’ve been running through the six with my woes.”

Christy then reflects on all the things she’s managed to achieve over the years and repeats the same lyrics as her accomplishments are listed again.

She captioned the video, “#DeepRealization. Life hits you hard sometimes…”

Christy previously opened up about her struggles with her mental health in an essay published in 2019.

“Many of you know me as the girl from that TV show or movie you once saw on the Disney Channel. Maybe you saw me on Broadway or in a Lifetime Movie. I am an actress and if you were going to define my ‘brand’ you might say I was ‘perfect’ or ‘pulled together.’ I’m here to throw a wrench at that image,” she wrote.

“I have largely suffered in silence…during a period of time in my life, I grappled with depression, drinking, and more, desperate to find fixes for how I felt.”
