Taraji P. Henson Talks Mental Health in the Black Community During Variety's Power Of Women Speech (Video)

Honoree Taraji P. Henson is all smiles at Variety’s Power Of Women: New York event!

The 48-year-old Empire actress looked chic at the event, presented by Lifetime, at Cipriani Midtown on Friday (April 5) in New York City.

She was joined by fellow honorees Kacey Musgraves, Bette Midler, and Christiane Amanpour.

Presenters included CBS This Morning‘s Gayle King, Gloria Bell actress Julianne Moore, and The Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon (wearing some interesting tiny props on his fingers). The Daily Show comedian Michelle Wolf hosted the event.

Also in attendance were Bethenny & Fredrik‘s Bethenny Frankel, journalist Carole Radziwill, “Babe” singer Jennifer Nettles, Freak Show actress Trudie Styler, and Ashley Graham, who had fun with fellow model Gigi Hadid while inside.

Taraji was brought to tears during her speech while discussing mental health in the black community. Watch it below! (See Gigi‘s speech here.)
