Kelly Clarkson is halfway to an EGOT after winning a Daytime Emmy for hosting The Kelly Clarkson Show!

The 38-year-old singer won the award for Outstanding Entertainment Talk Show Host for the first season of her talk show.

“OH MY GOSH!!!!!! What is happening?!!!! This is amazing!!! Thank y’all so much!!! And a MAJOR thank you to my entire crew that really is the reason I won!!! I can’t wait to celebrate with our whole crew when humans can congregate again!! This calls for a PARTY!!!!” Kelly wrote on Twitter after winning the award.

“I could never have achieved this without my #hometeam so THANK YOU for taking such great care of my babies when I can’t,” Kelly added. She concluded her thank yous by saying, “Thank you so much to @BBlackstock for believing in me & convincing me to do @KellyClarksonTV show and @lifeofT for being the greatest friend/assistant.”

Fans are surprised to see Kelly thanking her estranged husband Brandon Blackstock as she just filed for divorce from him two weeks ago.

The full list of winners for the 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards has been revealed!

The show was hosted by the ladies of The Talk and it aired on CBS, marking the first time that the Daytime Emmys have aired on network television in many years.

The winners accepted the awards via speeches that were pre-taped in their homes.

The Young and the Restless was the big winner among the soap opera series while Jeopardy won for both Outstanding Game Show and Outstanding Game Show Host for Alex Trebek.

“I’ll be honest with you this one is a shock, very surprising to me,” Trebek said in his speech. “Speaking as one who has now been nominated 32 times and won 7 times, I think I can say with some degree of authority that winning is nicer.”

Ellen DeGeneres and Kelly Clarkson were among the other winners.

The Talk co-hosts are taking on an exciting new gig!

CBS announced Thursday (June 18) that the women of the daytime talk show – Sharon Osbourne, Sheryl Underwood, Eve, Carrie Ann Inaba and Marie Osmond – will host the 47th annual Daytime Emmy Awards.

The two-hour event will take place on June 26 at 8 p.m. ET, and will feature awards being presented virtually in leading categories.

The awards were originally scheduled to take place June 12-14, but were postponed amid the global health crisis. Additional categories will be announced online and presented in a separate ceremony in July.

The awards are presented to individuals and programs broadcast between 2:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m., as well as certain categories of digital and syndicated programming of similar content.

The full list of nominations has been announced for the 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards!

The awards show will be aired on CBS next month, marking the first time that the show will air on a broadcast television network since 2011.

Leading the list of nominations this year is the soap opera series General Hospital with 23 nominations in total, followed by Days of Our Lives with 22 noms, The Young and the Restless with 21 noms, and The Bold and the Beautiful with 13 noms.

Kelly Clarkson has earned her first nominations for hosting and producing her talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show.

Some other notable stars who received nominations include Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Sara Ramirez, Liana Liberato, and more.

The 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards will be taking place in June 2020 as planned and the show will be returning to CBS for a virtual ceremony!

The network has announced that the show will be broadcast on CBS on Friday, June 26 at 8pm ET/PT. This marks the first time the Daytime Emmys will be shown on TV in five years and the first time they’re on CBS since 2011.

During the broadcast, awards will be presented in leading categories, with recipients and other special guests appearing from home in light of the COVID-19 pandemic. Additional categories will be announced simultaneously on Twitter (@DaytimeEmmys), with others presented in a separate ceremony in July.

Nominations for the Daytime Emmys will be announced on The Talk on Friday (May 21) at 2pm ET.

“The Daytime Emmys are coming home,” said Adam Sharp, President & CEO of NATAS. “For generations, daytime television has been a source of comfort and continuity that’s never been more important. We’re delighted to join with CBS in celebrating the programs and professionals who never cease to brighten our days.”

CBS has been slammed for the programming the network has decided to show instead of the Tony Awards in June.

The 2020 Daytime Emmy Awards have been canceled amid the coronavirus pandemic.

The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences made the announcement on Thursday (Match 19) about the ceremony that was set for June in Pasadena, Calif., Deadline reports.

“Given our concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic, we have decided that we will not be staging the 47th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards in Pasadena this coming June,” NATAS chairman Terry O’Reilly said. “As there are so many unknowns right now with the flow of information changing on a daily, almost hourly, basis, it would simply be irresponsible to move forward with our annual celebration of excellence in daytime television at this time.”

Daytime Emmy Awards executive director Brent Stanton added, “Judging continues, and we look forward to announcing our incredibly talented nominees later this spring. We are working on some interesting alternative ideas for how to best recognize the honorees later this year and will share more details in the weeks ahead.”

“These were extremely difficult decisions to make, but at the end of the day the health and safety of our event attendees and staff must remain our paramount concern,” NATAS president and CEO Adam Sharp said. “We are closely monitoring public heath authorities’ guidance, seeking feedback from our awards communities, and evaluating the flexibility of our venue and production partners as we plan for the future in this unprecedented context.”
