ABC Announces 2020-2021 Primetime Schedule, Scripted Series Will Return in the Fall

ABC has announced its schedule for the 2020-2021 primetime season!

The network plans on airing new episodes of scripted series in the fall, even though productions still haven’t resumed filming amid the coronavirus pandemic. Some shows are beginning to go back to work, though most don’t have a date set yet.

“We wanted to honor the current environment and be thoughtful, which is why we waited until this moment when we have more confidence in our ability to return scripted programming in the fall,” ABC Entertainment president Karey Burke told Variety. “We hope it’s a fall schedule. We’re calling it our premiere schedule.”

The schedule includes the return of Dancing With the Stars and The Bachelorette, as well as drama series like The Good Doctor, Grey’s Anatomy, and Station 19. Three new series are part of the schedule: detective thriller Big Sky, comedy series Call Your Mother, and the revival of Supermarket Sweep with host Leslie Jones.

All 7 'Scandal' Seasons to Stream on Hulu After Netflix Drops the Show

Scandal fans were devastated to learn that the hit ABC show is being removed from Netflix on May 18, 2020.

Well, we’ve just learned that Hulu acquired the rights to the hit show and all seven seasons will begin streaming on May 20!

The series was created by Shonda Rhimes and stars Kerry Washington as Olivia Pope, Guillermo Diaz as Huck, Darby Stanchfield as Abby Whelan, Katie Lowes as Quinn Perkins, Tony Goldwyn as President Fitzgerald Grant, Jeff Perry as Cyrus, Bellamy Young as First Lady Mellie Grant, Scott Foley as Jake Ballard, and more.

The Next 'Bachelorette' Will Be Revealed Soon - Get the Details!

The next Bachelorette will be announced very soon!

ABC’s pick is being unveiled on Monday (March 2) on Good Morning America, according to GMA‘s Tony Morrison.

“JUST ANNOUNCED: We’re revealing the new @BacheloretteABC, LIVE MONDAY on @GMA! 🌹 Have questions for her? ASK in as a reply below! #TheBachelorette,” he tweeted on Friday (February 28).

Good Morning America airs on ABC from 7-9 a.m. ET, although it’s not yet known when during the show the announcement will happen.

A troll said something really upsetting to actress Allison Tolman, who stars on ABC’s new show Emergence.

The 38-year-old actress plays the leading role of Jo Evans on the show.

It all started when the official Emergence Twitter account posted a video of Allison with her two co-stars at the ABC TCA presentation party.

The troll responded, “Please get rid of the fat girl! She’s not even a good actress!!!!”

Allison took the high road and instead, made a little humor out of his horrible statement.

Allison responded, “I mean this is ridiculous— I’m obviously an extremely good actress.”

ABC Sets 'Young Frankenstein' As Next Live Musical Event

ABC has set its’ next live production with Young Frankenstein.

The live musical will be produced by legendary director, writer, actor, comedian, producer and composer, Mel Brooks.

The event will be based on the Broadway stage version of Young Frankenstein, it will follow a comedic re-imagining of the Mary Shelley classic novel.

If you don’t know, the movie version centered on medical lecturer Dr. Frederick Frankenstein, who learns that he has inherited his infamous grandfather’s estate in Transylvania. Arriving at the castle, Dr. Frankenstein soon begins to recreate his grandfather’s experiments.

The cast and air date of the special is still yet to be announced.

'Once Upon a Time' Creators Are Developing a Series Set in Disney Fairytale Universe

ABC is developing a new series called Epic with the team behind the hit series Once Upon a Time.

The new series is being created by Once Upon a Time‘s executive producers Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz and writer Brigette Hales.

Deadline reports that the show is a “romantic anthology series set in the fairytale universe of Disney.”

“Taking place in a Disney-like Enchanted Forest, it will center on a whole new set of new heroes, villains, princes, princesses and all manner of magical beings. While it will pay homage to the classic signposts we’re all familiar with from the stories we grew up with, Epic will endeavor to create a whole new batch of characters as it explores love in all its forms,” the outlet reported.

The new show will not be connected to Once Upon a Time.

ABC's 'Same Time, Next Christmas' Movie - Meet the Cast!

Lea Michele is getting into the holiday spirit with her new movie Same Time, Next Christmas and it’s getting a primetime premiere on ABC tonight.

The 33-year-old actress returns to the network after starring in the 2017 comedy series The Mayor and she has some hot co-stars in the holiday film!

Here is the movie’s synopsis: Olivia Anderson (Michele) is a successful young woman who met her childhood sweetheart during her family’s annual Christmas visit to Hawaii. After being separated by distance and years, the two reunite at the same Hawaiian resort years later, and the old chemistry between them flares up anew—but circumstances conspire to keep them apart.

Same Time, Next Christmas premieres at 9/8c tonight (December 5) on ABC.
