Aishwarya Rai and her eight-year-old daughter Aaradhya have been admitted to the hospital amid their battle with coronavirus.

The 46-year-old Bollywood actress tested positive for COVID-19 earlier in the week after her husband Abhishek Bachchan and his father Amitabh Bachchan were both hospitalized because of the virus.

A hospital source told PTI, “Both Aishwarya and Aaradhya were admitted to Nananvati hospital today. They are fine.” Another source said, “Aishwarya needed medical attention.”

After Aishwarya was diagnosed with coronvirus, her husband released a statement on social media to give an update on their condition.

Aishwarya is one of the most beloved actresses in India and she was the winner of the Miss World 1994 pageant. She became the first Indian actress to be a jury member at the Cannes Film Festival in 2003 and she now attends the festival nearly every year.

It was just announced that both Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and her daughter, Aaradhya, have also tested positive for COVID-19 coronavirus.

The reveal came just a few hours after her husband, Abhishek, and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, shared they had also tested positive for the virus that has turned into a pandemic.

Abhishek and Amitabh have been hospitalized in India for treatment.

“Aishwarya and Aaradhya have also tested COVID-19 positive,” Abhishek tweeted. “They will be self quarantining at home.”

He added that “the BMC has been updated of their situation and are doing the needful. The rest of the family, including my Mother, have tested negative. Thank you all for your wishes and prayers.”

The 45-year-old Indian actress brought her seven-year-old daughter Aaradhya to the event and they were seen posing for photos at the Hotel Martinez before the premiere.

Aishwarya Rai is notoriously private and very rarely makes public appearances, but one place you can always count on seeing her is at the Cannes Film Festival!

The 44-year-old Indian actress attended the premiere of the film Girls of the Sun on Saturday (May 12) at Palais des Festivals in Cannes, France.

“The gown was created to reflect the impalpable dream of a butterfly metamorphosis,” designer Michael Cinco told Harper’s Bazaar. The gown took a whopping 3,000 hours to make. “We worked closely with Aishwarya and her team in creating the perfect fit and making minor alterations to best suit her.”
