Alessia Cara Will Join Shawn Mendes on Tour This Year!

Alessia Cara is set to open for Shawn Mendes this year as the special guest on his upcoming world tour!

The two stars will travel around the world together, hitting cities in the United States, Canada, and Europe. The tour kicks off in March in Amsterdam and the U.S. leg kicks off in June.

Shawn announced the news by finding a tweet he wrote in 2013 in which praised Alessia and asked his fans to help find her Twitter.

Alessia Cara Gets Dressed Up For Grammy Awards 2019

Alessia Cara red lips pop with her black dress at the 2019 Grammy Awards on Sunday (February 10) at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.

The 22-year-old singer arrived in style to pass on her Best New Artist title – which she won last year to a new artist.

Chloe x Halle, Luke Combs, Greta Van Fleet, H.E.R., Dua Lipa, Margo Price, Bebe Rexha and Jorja Smith are all up for the honor at tonight’s show.

The show will be hosted this year by 15-time Grammy winner Alicia Keys. Make sure to tune in at 8pm ET/5pm PT on CBS!

Alessia Cara Opens Up About the Inspiration Behind 'Out of Love'

Alessia Cara is revealing what inspired her to write her new song “Out of Love.”

The 22-year-old singer stopped Late Night with Seth Meyers on Tuesday evening (January 8) in New York City.

During the show, Alessia explained that the song helped her friend to win back his ex.

“It was inspired by a friend’s break up. I know that sounds like a lie, but it really is about a friend! It was the only song I wrote that wasn’t about me,” Alessia explained.

She continued, “Basically my friend was going through a break up and asked me to write a song to help him express himself to his girlfriend…and he played her the song once it was done and now they’re back together!”

'Aretha! A Grammy Celebration for the Queen of Soul' Performers & Host Revealed!

Aretha Franklin is getting a superstar tribute!

The late Queen of Soul will be honored by CBS, the Recording Academy, AEG Ehrlich Ventures and Clive Davis with Aretha! A GRAMMY Celebration for the Queen of Soul.

The special will include performances from Yolanda Adams, Shirley Caesar, Alessia Cara, Kelly Clarkson, Common, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys, John Legend, Patti LaBelle, BeBe Winans, Brandi Carlile, Chloe X Halle, H.E.R., Janelle Monáe and SZA.

Tyler Perry will host the night, with more performances to be announced in the coming weeks.

The live concert taping is on January 13, 2019, at 6:00 p.m. PT at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles and will be broadcast later in 2019 on CBS. For ticket information, click here.

That’s a wrap on the 2018 Jingle Ball tour!

Shawn Mendes, Bebe Rexha, and more music stars hit the stage at Y100 Jingle Ball 2018 presented by Capital One on Sunday night (December 16) at the BB&T Center in Miami, Fla.

Calvin Harris, Khalid, Marshmello, Alessia Cara, Bazzi, Sabrina Carpenter, and Jack & Jack rounded out the lineup at the final show on the tour.

The tour kicked off in late November and there were 12 stops along the way.

Alessia Cara Covers Ariana Grande's 'Breathin'' on BBC Radio 1 - Watch Now!

Alessia Cara is putting her own spin on Ariana Grande‘s Sweetener single, “Breathin’”!

The 22-year-old singer appeared on BBC Radio 1 for Phil Taggart’s Chillest Show on Sunday (December 16).

During her appearance, Alessia performed a cover of the Ariana track, as well as her own song “Trust My Lonely.”

Alessia released her sophomore studio album The Pains of Growing on November 30, which includes the single “Growing Pains.” The album follows her debut, Know-It-All, released in 2015.

Shawn Mendes is all smiles during his performance at the 103.5 Kiss FM’s 2018 Jingle Ball on Wednesday night (December 12) in Chicago, Ill.

The 20-year-old singer hit the stage to perform some of his biggest hits including “In My Blood,” “There’s Nothing Holdin’ Me Back,” and “Stitches.”
