“F— him and his lies is my comment,” Rose said in response.

“I told Payne to acknowledge and apologize, he has not. I said I didn’t want to destroy, now I do. Why do these men always lie? I will now make it a mission to expose him. I am not the only one,” she continued.

“I want people that have watched his films to know his morals are in your mind, his thoughts have become yours. Like in his ‘comedy’ Election, where the middle-aged teacher that fantasizes having sex with his young student, Reese Witherspoon. I want people to know Hollywood perpetrators show you who they are, their skewed view normalized. Men like Predator Payne, who profited from working Weinstein, must be stopped from not only assaulting, but must also be prevented from infecting the masses with their propaganda.”

Alexander Payne Denies Rose McGowan Sexual Misconduct Allegation: 'Simply Untrue'

After Rose McGowan came forward to accuse director Alexander Payne of sexual misconduct when she was only 15 years old last month, he is now issuing a statement of his own.

The director wrote a statement given to Deadline on Friday (September 4).

Rose McGowan and I have always had very cordial interactions, and I have admired her commitment to activism and her voice in an important, historic movement. However, what she has said about me in recent social media posts is simply untrue,” he wrote.

Rose is mistaken in saying we met when she was fifteen, in the late 1980s. I was a full-time film student at UCLA from 1984 until 1990, and I know that our paths never crossed. She claims that I showed her a ‘soft-core porn movie’ I had directed for Showtime ‘under a different name.’ This would have been impossible, since I had never directed anything professionally, lurid or otherwise. I have also never worked for Showtime or directed under any name other than my own,” he continued.

Rose and I did meet years later, in 1991, during my first directing job, when she auditioned for a comic short I was making for a Playboy Channel series. Although she did not get the part, she left a note for me at the casting desk asking that I call her. I had no reason to question how old she was, since the role she read for required an actor who was of age. We later went out on a couple of dates and remained on friendly terms for years. While I cannot allow false statements about events twenty-nine years ago to go uncorrected, I will continue to wish only the best for Rose.”

Rose McGowan Accuses Director Alexander Payne of Sexual Misconduct

Rose McGowan is bravely coming forward and accusing director Alexander Payne of sexual misconduct. The alleged incident occurred when she was only 15 years old.

Alexander Payne. You sat me down & played a soft-core porn movie you directed for Showtime under a different name. I still remember your apartment in Silverlake. You are very well-endowed. You left me on a street corner afterwards. I was 15,” the actress – who is now 46 years old – shared on Twitter in the early morning hours of Monday (August 17).

Rose then tweeted out a photo of her headshot at age 15 and said, “I just want an acknowledgement and an apology. I do not want to destroy.”

Alexander Payne is a director and has won 2 Oscars, both for adapted screenplay, for The Descendants in 2012 and Sideways in 2005.

The incident would have happened around 1988 when Payne was 1988.

Rose also accused Harvey Weinstein of raping her in 1997.

Just last month, Rose spoke out about another very famous figure and called for his arrest.

Laura Dern is joined on the red carpet by friends Naomi Watts and Gwendoline Christie at MoMA’s 2019 Film Benefit presented by Chanel on Tuesday night (November 12) in New York City.

The Oscar-nominated actress, who is a frontrunner to win an Academy Award next year for Marriage Story, was honored for her career.

“Courageous is the first word that comes to mind when I think of Laura Dern. Not in the somewhat clichéd way it is often used to describe actors’ role-choices, but in the fact that she has made me a more courageous viewer,” MoMA’s film curator Rajendra Roy said in a statement.

He added, “Her disarming ability to shake us loose from false conventional moorings and thrust us into moments of profound truth has made her an essential artist in cinema for the past thirty-five years (she started young!). She is the ideal honoree as we inaugurate a new, more open chapter in MoMA’s history.”

Other celebs who attended the event included Adam Driver, Brooke Shields, directors Noah Baumbach and Alexander Payne, and singer Maggie Rogers, who performed.
