Alyssa Milano Is Being Called Out for Her Comment During AOC's Heart-Wrenching Instagram Live

Alyssa Milano is facing backlash for a comment that she left while watching Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez‘s heart-wrenching Instagram Live about what she experienced during the insurrection.

The 31-year-old congresswoman spoke to over 150,000 viewers on Monday night (February 1) about everything that went down during the Capitol riots on January 6.

AOC revealed that she thought she was going to die when her office was invaded and she had to hide in the bathroom. She was with Rep. Katie Porter during these moments and Alyssa made a joke about them being together.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Reveals She's a Sexual Assault Survivor While Discussing the Insurrection

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, a Democratic congresswoman from New York, bravely revealed that she is a sexual assault survivor while talking to supporters on Instagram Live.

The 31-year-old politician spoke to over 150,000 viewers on Monday night (February 1) about her experience during the insurrection at the U.S. Capitol on January 6.

Ocasio-Cortez told viewers about went happened in the days leading up to the riot and also what occurred while the terrorists were inside the building. She then spoke about how Republicans want us to “move on” from that day and she compared these people to abusers.

“They’re trying to tell us to move on without any accountability, without any truth-telling, or without confronting the extreme damage, loss of life, trauma,” AOC said during her Instagram Live.

“The reason I say this, and the reason I’m getting emotional is because they told us to move on, that it’s not a big deal, that we should forget what happened, or even telling us to apologize. These are the tactics of abusers,” AOC continued. “I’m a survivor of sexual assault and I haven’t told many people that in my life. But when we go through trauma, trauma compounds on each other. Whether you had a negligent parent, or whether you had someone who was verbally abusive to you, whether you are a survivor of abuse, whether you experience any sort of trauma in your life, small to large. These episodes can compound on each other.”

AOC tearfully revealed that during the insurrection, she locked herself inside her bathroom as she thought her office had been breached. It turned out to be a Capitol policeman inside the office.

β€œI thought I was going to die…I have never been quieter in my entire life,” she said.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Weighs in Harry Styles Wearing a Dress Amid Masculinity Debate

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez has Harry Styles‘ back.

On Saturday night (November 21), the 31-year-old Congresswoman answered questions from fans on her Instagram Story.

In one question, a fan asked AOC to share her thoughts on the 26-year-old “Adore You” singer wearing a dress on the latest cover of Vogue.

“It looks wonderful,” AOC responded. “The masculine and feminine elements are balanced beautifully – the hair and jacket styling give me James Dean vibes too.”

Shortly after Harry‘s cover was released, conservative commentator Candace Owens slammed the cover, saying, “There is no society that can survive without strong men.”

AOC went on to address these comments in her Instagram answer.

“Some people are made at it bc some folks are very sensitive to examining and exploring gender roles in society,” AOC wrote. “Perhaps for some people it provokes some anger or insecurity around masculinity/femininity/etc. If it does, then maybe that’s part of the point. Sit with that reaction and think abut it, examine it, explore it, engage it, and grow with it.”

“What’s the point of creating things if they don’t make people think? Or feel or reflect? Especially as an artist or creative? Who wants to see the same thing all the time? And never explore their assumptions? Anyways it looks bomb so” AOC concluded while adding the hands up emoji.
