Annie Murphy Says Her 'Heart Lept' For 'Kevin Can F Himself' Character

Annie Murphy leans on Eric Petersen as they hit the premiere of their new show, Kevin Can F***Himself, during the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival on Friday (June 18) in New York City.

The two actors joined co-star Mary Hollis Inboden along with creator Valerie Armstrong and showrunner Craig DiGregorio at the event.

In a recent interview, Annie revealed that after Schitt’s Creek, she was looking at roles that were “worlds away from Alexis.”

“As much as I love her, for my career, I needed to do that,” she added. “So when this script fell into my lap, it was just like my heart leapt and my eyes shot [out] because this character is so far from Alexis.”

She’s beautiful and can take a joke (though she’s usually the butt of them); and she’s married to a guy who must’ve won some sort of marriage lottery, because she looks the way she does and he’s…funny.

But what happens when we follow Allison out of her husband’s domain? When she finally wakes up to—and revolts against—the injustices in her life?

Annie Murphy Has Been Bribing Dan Levy To Write a 'Schitt's Creek' Movie

Annie Murphy is not above bribing her TV brother Dan Levy to get him to start writing a Schitt’s Creek movie.

The 35-year-old Emmy-winning actress revealed that she’s actually been sending him $5 a day as an incentive.

“I’ve been sending Dan $5 a day in the mail as a bribe,” Annie shared on US Weekly‘s podcast. “So far, I have not heard back about a movie officially.”

Annie is still excited about the possibility of getting a movie one day.

“My God, I would be just over the moon if that ever came to pass because I miss everyone so much every day,” she adds. “Just to see Moira again, I would pay a lot of money to do that.”

The 34-year-old Emmy-winning Schitt’s Creek actress had a huge smile on her face while taking a video call while walking around New York City on Wednesday afternoon (March 24).

Annie kept things cool and casual in a long, navy coat over a cream-colored sweater and jeans paired with white sneakers as she stepped out to grab an iced coffee.

Her co-star Natasha Lyonne was spotted filming a few scenes for the new season in NYC last week.

More exciting casting news for Annie Murphy!

It has been announced that the 34-year-old Emmy-winning Schitt’s Creek actress has signed on for season two of the Netflix series Russian Doll, TV Line reports.

As of right now, details about Annie‘s character are being kept under wraps, but it has been revealed that production for season two began this week.

Russian Doll, which premiered in 2019, stars Natasha Lyonne as Nadia Vulvokov, a coder who is forced to re-live her 36th birthday on a nightmarish loop when she keeps dying and coming back to life.

Annie‘s Russian Doll casting comes a week after it was announced that she will be starring in a new dysfunctional family movie with Ben Platt and Allison Janney.

Next up for Annie is the new dark dramedy Kevin Can F–k Himself, which will be premiering on AMC this summer. Check out the trailer here!

Annie Murphy has lined up a brand new role in The People We Hate At The Wedding.

According to Deadline, the award-winning Schitt’s Creek actress will star alongside Allison Janney and Ben Platt in the flick based on Grant Ginder‘s novel.

The comedy will center on a dysfunctional family who just can’t seem to get along and get it together.

However, they reluctantly reunite for a family wedding and, as their many skeletons are wrenched from the closet, it turns out to be just what this singular family needs to reconnect.

Claire Scanlon will direct the movie, with a script by Lizzie Molyneux-Logelin and Wendy Molyneux.
