Antonio Banderas Tests Positive for Coronavirus, Will Spend 60th Birthday in Quarantine

Today is Antonio Banderas‘ 60th birthday and he just revealed to fans that he’ll be celebrating the special day in quarantine as he has tested positive for coronavirus.

The Oscar-nominated actor took to social media on Monday (August 10) to open up about his diagnosis and how he’s feeling.

“Greetings to all. I want to make public that today, August 10, I am forced to celebrate my 60th birthday following quarantine, having tested positive for the COVID-19 disease, caused by the coronavirus,” he wrote in Spanish.

“I would like to add that I feel relatively well, just a little more tired than usual and confident that I will recover as soon as possible following the medical indications that I hope will allow me to overcome the infectious process that I suffer and that is affecting so many people around the planet,” he continued.

Antonio says that he plans on reading, writing, and resting while in self-isolation.

All of these stars also tested positive for coronavirus.

Melanie Griffith is looking back at her past romances.

The 62-year-old actress shared a series of throwback photos on her Instagram on Thursday (July 16).

She first posted a photo of herself at 26, when she was “total trouble.”

She then shared a photo with actor Steven Bauer, who she was married to from 1981 to 1989 and has a 34-year-old son with, Alexander Bauer.

“When @thestevenbauer and I were married and madly in love ♥️ #tbt 1984,” she captioned the post.

She then posted a picture with Don Johnson, who she married twice – first in 1976, and then from 1989 to 1996. Together, they are the parents of Dakota Johnson.

Finally, she posted a tribute to her most recent marriage to actor Antonio Banderas, to whom she was married from 1996 to 2015 and have a daughter, Stella Banderas.

Antonio Banderas and Melanie Griffith are on great terms.

The 59-year-old Pain & Glory star opened up about his relationship with the 62-year-old Working Girl actress following their 2015 divorce in an interview on El Break de las 7.

“I think we are both reluctant to bury 20 years of marriage. We are human beings, we make mistakes and that is the human condition,” he explained. The pair were married back in 1996 and filed for the split back in June of 2014.

“The life I had with Melanie was beautiful. We had 20 wonderful years during which we gave our best and lived wonderful moments that I will not forget,” he went on to say.

“We had a wonderful daughter that we both love and that is the end result of our relationship, the most beautiful thing we have ever done together,” he added in reference to their daughter, Stella, 23.

“And even though we are separated legally, she is still my family. When I go to Los Angeles I visit her and just yesterday we were talking on the phone. Everything happens naturally…our children, all of them, are very grateful we manage to do it all in a civil manner.”

Antonio Banderas Teaches 'A Chorus Line' Choreography to Conan O'Brien - Watch Now!

Antonio Banderas recently starred in a Spanish production of the classic musical A Chorus Line and he’s showing off the dance moves he learned!

The Oscar-nominated actor taught the choreography to Conan O’Brien during an appearance on Conan on Monday (February 3) in Los Angeles.

Antonio told Conan about opening up a theater in his hometown of Malaga, Spain.

There are currently discussions to bring the Spanish production of A Chorus Line to Broadway. Antonio, who is currently Oscar-nominated for his work in Pain and Glory, is in talks to star in the show again!

A Chorus Line might be returning to Broadway… in Spanish!

While making an appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday night (January 28), Pain & Glory star and Oscar nominee Antonio Banderas hinted that the acclaimed production might be on its way to New York.

Antonio opened a theater and school in his hometown of Málaga, Spain last year, called Teatro del Soho CaixaBank, and mounted the first Spanish production of A Chorus Line as the theater’s inaugural musical.

We wanted to create that feeling for the audience in Spain that they’re actually watching a show on Broadway. We do it exactly how it was done here and it may happen, actually,” Antonio, who directed the production and starred as Zach, admitted. “It may happen, actually. We’re in negotiations now to end up in New York here, doing A Chorus Line in Spanish.”

Antonio also talked about his film Pain & Glory, suffering a heart attack and the thing a nurse told him about beginning to experience feelings in a different way.
