Eddie Murphy and Jamie Foxx share the stage while attending the 2019 Governors Awards on Sunday night (October 27) at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center in Hollywood.
Jamie kicked off the event by welcoming the crowd and doing shout-outs to people in the audience… and he called Eddie up on stage without having anything planned!
Eddie was at the event to promote his Netflix movie Dolemite Is My Name alongside co-star Da’Vine Joy Randolph while Jamie promoted his movie Just Mercy with co-star Karan Kendrick.
The 54-year-old actor plays Dr. John Dolittle in the upcoming film.
Here’s the synopsis for the vivid reimagining of the classic tale of the man who could talk to animals: “After losing his wife seven years earlier, the eccentric Dr. John Dolittle (Downey), famed doctor and veterinarian of Queen Victoria’s England, hermits himself away behind the high walls of Dolittle Manor with only his menagerie of exotic animals for company. But when the young queen (Jessie Buckley) falls gravely ill, a reluctant Dolittle is forced to set sail on an epic adventure to a mythical island in search of a cure, regaining his wit and courage as he crosses old adversaries and discovers wondrous creatures.”
It continues, “The doctor is joined on his quest by a young, self-appointed apprentice (Harry Collett) and a raucous coterie of animal friends, including an anxious gorilla (Rami Malek), an enthusiastic but bird-brained duck (Octavia Spencer), a bickering duo of a cynical ostrich (Kumail Nanjiani) and an upbeat polar bear (John Cena) and a headstrong parrot (Emma Thompson), who serves as Dolittle’s most trusted advisor and confidante.”
Antonio Banderas is supported by girlfriend Nicole Kimpel at the premiere of Pain & Glory on Saturday (September 28) at the Alice Tull Hall at Lincoln Center in New York City.
The couple coordinated in blue outfits as they were joined by writer/director Pedro Almodovar at the premiere held during the 2019 New York Film Festival.

The upcoming dark comedy is an adaptation of Jake Bernstein’s non-fiction book Secrecy World. The film follows a widow who investigates an insurance fraud. When she begins asking questions, she finds that the problem is much bigger than she’d anticipated and is led to Panama City law partners who are exploiting the world’s financial system.
