James Wan, the director of the upcoming Aquaman sequel, has finally revealed the full title of the upcoming movie.

Jason Momoa will be returning to play the title character in the new DC Comics movie and other returning cast members include Amber Heard, Nicole Kidman, Patrick Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, and Dolph Lundgren.

'Aquaman 2' Gets Official Release Date

Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman sequel will be hitting theater in over three years!

The DC Entertainment Universe movie was given a release date today. Expect to see the new film on December 16, 2022. Aquaman 2 might have some competition that weekend as there’s an untitled live action movie from Disney set to be released that same weekend in 2022. Stay tuned!

If you’re going to need an Aquaman fix sooner than that, the studio will be releasing the first Aquaman film on DVD and Blu-ray on March 26. Be sure to check it out!

'Aquaman' Sequel Officially In The Works

Aquaman finally has a sequel in the works!

The massively successful DC Comics flick is starting to put the pieces together for new film, according to THR.

Warner Bros. has recruited Aquaman co-writer David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick to begin penning the sequel.

James Wan and Peter Safran are also making deals to return as producers for the movie.

The news of the sequel comes almost two months after the first film’s massive $67.8 million opening weekend. The studio reportedly did not want to rush the movie’s team into making the second film.

Since the flick’s debut, the studio announced a spinoff surrounding Aquaman villain The Trench.

'Aquaman' Continues Box Office Domination!

Jason Momoa‘s Aquaman is continuing to reign supreme at the weekend box office.

This weekend, the film brought in an additional $30.7 million, bringing the film’s domestic total to a whopping $259.7 million.

The new film Escape Room brought in $18 million in its debut at the box office this weekend, which is good enough for second place this weekend.

Rounding out the top five movies of the weekend are Mary Poppins Returns, Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse, and Bumblebee, which earned $15.7 million, $13.0 million, and $12.7 millionn, respectively.
