The 36-year-old Happiest Season actress makes her directorial debut in Showtime’s new found footage tv show Cinema Toast, which was created by her partner Jeff Baena.
She spoke with People about directing an episode of the show and working with Jeff.

Aubrey Plaza shows off her fun green sweater with a witches’ hat on it while crossing the street in Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon (January 5).
The 36-year-old Happiest Season actress waved her arms about and brought some attention to herself as she went from one side of the road to the other.
Just the day before, Aubrey was spotted in bright pink leggings and a dark sweatshirt as she ran a few errands.

In a recent interview, Aubrey revealed that a lot of Criminal Minds fan accounts pop up on her Instagram Explore page still since she appeared on the series as Cat Adams.
“Criminal Minds‘ fan account pops up because of my glorious unsung arc as Cat Adams, which will live in Criminal Minds history forever,” she shared. “People on the Gram love Spencer and Cat’s cat and mouse game.”

Aubrey Plaza has revealed some big news about Kristen Stewart.
During her interview with Stephen Colbert, Aubrey, 36, revealed that Kristen, 30, got coronavirus while they were filming their new holiday movie Happiest Season in Pittsburgh back in February.
“COVID-19 was on our set, Kristen got sick. Well, we didn’t know,” Aubrey started.
“A lot of people got sick,” Aubrey continued. “It was the last week of February. It was that zone where people were starting to talk about coronavirus, but people were kind of laughing about it — no one understood how serious it was. I think a bunch of people on our set got sick. I didn’t, thank God.”
Aubrey also recalled the moment she asked someone whether she should worry about COVID back in February.
“He was like, ‘That s–t’s been in Pittsburgh for a long time’ and I was like, ‘Jesus, alright.’ Anyway, he was right,” Aubrey shared.
Kristen has not yet publicly talked about battling COVID.

Aubrey Plaza has scooped up a role in Guy Ritchie‘s upcoming thriller, Five Eyes.
Variety reports that the 36-year-old actress will star opposite Jason Statham in the flick
While there’s no word on who Aubrey will play just yet, Five Eyes centers on an MI6 guns-and-steel agent (Statham) who is recruited by a global intelligence alliance to track down and stop the sale of a deadly new weapons technology that threatens to disrupt the world order.
Reluctantly paired with CIA high-tech expert, he sets off on a globe-trotting mission where he will have to use all of his charm, ingenuity and stealth to track down and infiltrate billionaire arms broker.
Guy will direct and produce the movie.
Over the weekend, fans on social media praised Aubrey for her role as Riley in Happiest Season, which also stars Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis.
The gay romantic comedy movie is streaming on Hulu now.
Aubrey will next be seen in Black Bear, which premiered at the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year. It will be out on December 4.

Happiest Season follows a woman named Abby (Kristen Stewart) who accepts her girlfriend Harper’s (Mackenzie Davis) invitation to spend Christmas with her family, but moments before arriving at the family home, Harper informs Abby that she’s not out to her family and they must hide their relationship.
While Abby begins to question the girlfriend she thought she knew, she meets Riley, Harper’s ex-girlfriend played by Aubrey Plaza. They form a friendship during the moments when Abby is excluded from certain familial activities and everyone wishes they ended up together!
Harper does eventually come out to her family and wins back Abby’s heart.
Fans wish that Aubrey‘s character was the one who ended up with Kristen at the end of the movie and so many people are tweeting about it!

Kristen Stewart masks up with her co-stars as she steps out for the premiere of her new holiday movie, Happiest Season, held at The Grove on Tuesday night (November 17) in Los Angeles.
The 30-year-old actress was joined by co-stars Alison Brie, Mary Holland and Aubrey Plaza at the special drive-in screening, as well as director Clea DuVall.

After walking the red carpet in a cute black sweater and shorts combo, Kristen switched up her look for something a bit warmer – ripped jeans and a her fave bomber jacket – for the cast Q&A and introduction ahead of the screening.
“I wish I had something similar to this movie as I was a younger person watching Christmas movies — I’d love a gay Christmas movie, it’s synonymous with fun and happy,” Kristen shared at the event. “Also if I saw this movie and I wasn’t in it and I saw Clea doing this with other people, I’d be beside myself, so thank god I’m in it. Thank you for putting me in this movie.”
Happiest Season will debut on Hulu next Wednesday, November 25.
