Austin Butler & Callum Turner to Star in 'Band of Brothers' Sequel Series for Apple TV+

Steven Spielberg and Tom Hanks are producing a sequel series for Band of Brothers and two of the lead stars were just announced!

Austin Butler and Callum Turner are set to star in the new series Masters of the Air, which “follows the true, deeply personal story of the American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep.”

The same team that put together 2001′s Band of Brothers and 2010′s The Pacific is producing the upcoming series. Both of those shows won the Emmy Award for Best Limited Series and many other awards as well.

Deadline reports that Masters of the Air will have 10 episodes and will cost more than $200 million to produce.

Austin is best known for his work in the shows The Carrie Diaries and The Shannara Chronicles. He recently had a small role in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood and he stars opposite Hanks in the upcoming movie Elvis.

Callum most recently appeared in the movie Emma and he plays Theseus Scamander in the Fantastic Beasts franchise. He also stars in the Peacock series The Capture.

Austin Butler Steps Out While Filming Elvis Presley Biopic in Australia

Austin Butler definitely has that Elvis Presley style down.

The 29-year-old actor was spotted sporting a hairstyle similar to the late King while out and about on Friday (November 20) at Broadbeach in Gold Coast, Australia.

If you didn’t know, Austin has been in Australia filming Baz Luhrmann‘s Elvis Presley biopic. He was spotted in a denim waist-length shirt, loose khaki pants and worn brown boots while carrying a backpack.

There were numerous actors up for the role in the weeks leading up to the decision, which ultimately went to Austin.

Baz‘s movie “covers the seminal legend’s growth from dirt poor singer to global icon, seen through the prism of his complex relationship over two decades with manager Colonel Tom Parker.”

A source is speaking out about why Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler may have broken up after dating for almost 9 years.

“They’re just shooting on two different continents and it’s a matter of distance,” a source told E! News. “There is no bad blood at all, and they have a lot of respect for each other.”

Vanessa was previously overseas filming The Princess Switch 2 for Netflix, while Austin is preparing to play Elvis Presley in the upcoming biopic about the singer.

Apparently, they “are split for now” but they’re “going to see what happens,” another insider told the publication. “They have such a history and deep connection they could find their way back to one another.”

The pair were first linked in September of 2011, and rumors that they split began over the holidays when the 31-year-old actress appeared to be on vacation without the 28-year-old actor.

Olivia DeJonge has landed the coveted role of Priscilla Presley in the upcoming Elvis movie to be directed by Baz Luhrmann.

Austin Butler is set to play the late rock star and Tom Hanks will play his manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

Olivia is best known for her work on the Netflix series The Society.

Olivia is capable of manifesting the complex depth and presence that has made Priscilla Presley an icon in her own right. She’s an extremely talented young actor and the perfect counterpoint to Austin’s Elvis,” Baz told Deadline in a statement.

Ansel Elgort Reveals Why He Thinks He Lost Out on Elvis Role to Austin Butler

Austin Butler landed the role of Elvis Presley in the upcoming Baz Luhrmann biopic, but there were numerous actors up for the role in the weeks leading up to the decision.

One of the finalists for the role, Ansel Elgort, just gave an interview where he revealed what happened in his audition.

”That wasn’t a bad audition. I think it was great,” Ansel told the Huffington Post. “I was in the middle of filming ‘West Side Story,’ so it was a little hard. I watched a ton of footage and memorized some of his interviews just to get his speech pattern down and sang a bunch of his stuff.”

Then, Ansel added, “But I wasn’t really prepared.”

Ansel has been hard at work on West Side Story, which will hit theaters in December of 2020.
