Regina King looks gorgeous on the carpet at the 2019 National Board of Review Awards Gala on Tuesday (January 8) at Cipriani in New York City.

The 47-year-old actress took home the Best Supporting Actress award for her work in the movie If Beale Street Could Talk.

The film’s writer and director Barry Jenkins won the award for Best Adapted Screenplay. He was seen meeting up with Best Original Screenplay winner, First Reformed‘s Paul Schrader.

Earlier in the day, Regina and Barry attended a special screening and reception for the film at the Whitby Hotel.

KiKi Layne and Stephan James brought If Beale Street Could Talk to the 2019 AFI Awards Luncheon!

The co-stars stepped out at the event on Friday afternoon (January 4) at the Four Seasons Hotel in Beverly Hills, Calif.

They were also joined by their cast mates Regina King, Brian Tyree Henry and Colman Domingo as well as director Barry Jenkins.

Also in attendance was Brian‘s Atlanta co-star Lakeith Stanfield.

During the luncheon, If Beale Street Could Talk was honored as an AFI Movie of the Year.

The film is also up for Best Motion Picture in the Drama category as well as Best Screenplay at this weekend’s Golden Globes.

The 47-year-old actress was joined at the event by her If Beale Street Could Talk director Barry Jenkins. Earlier in the day, they also attending a screening of the film at the festival.

Regina is being honored with the Chairman’s Award this year for her performance in the film. She is also nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress and we’ll find out if she wins it on Sunday!

Barry Jenkins stopped by The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Monday night (December 17) to dish about his latest film If Beale Street Could Talk, which has been nominated for Best Picture and Best Screenplay at the Golden Globes.

“I wrote the screen play for If Beale Street Could Talk at the same time that I wrote the script for Moonlight, I took a trip to Europe in the summer of 2013 and I wrote both screenplays,” the 39-year-old Oscar-winning writer-director revealed. “I didn’t even have the rights to the novel when I adapted it. I had no life, I had no friends, I had no e-mail, I had nothing.”

Stephen then asked if Barry had a suggestion for hosting duties for the 2019 Oscars.

“I think Oprah would be an amazing host for the Oscars,” Barry said. “It’d be like ‘you get a car, you get a car’ but like ‘you get an Oscar, you get an Oscar.’ It would be amazing.”

The longtime couple stepped out in style as they arrived at the screening of the highly-anticipated new movie.

Stars of the film Kiki Layne, Stephan James, Brian Tyree Henry, Finn Wittrock, and Dave Franco stepped out for the screening alongside director Barry Jenkins.

Common, Kumail Nanjiani and wife Emily V. Gordon, Ashley Bell, and Topher Grace were also in attendance at the event.
