Four Actresses Expected to Screen Test for HBO Max's Batgirl Role!

At least three actresses are expecting to participate in the screen test to take on the title role in HBO Max‘s Batgirl film.

Not much is known about the film as of right now, but it is clear that the title role will be Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Commissioner Gordon in the DC Comics lore, who becomes Batgirl in this universe.

One site is reporting that three actresses are testing this week, and one might be testing but “might have bowed out before the test process.”

'Batgirl' Movie Finds Its Directors!

A Batgirl movie is officially moving forward!

It has been announced that directors Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah, the duo that directed the 2020 movie Bad Boys for Life, have signed a deal with Warner Bros. to bring the female Caped Crusader to life on the big screen, THR reports.

Christina Hodson, who wrote the Transformer spinoff Bumblebee, is writing the script for the upcoming movie, which will most likely be released on HBO Max.

Batgirl is considered one of the most popular fictional superhero characters in the world, but she has never been highlighted on film.

Batgirl originally appeared in the comics back in 1967 as Barbara Gordon, the daughter of Gotham City police commissioner James Gordon. Gotham is, of course, where the Batman series takes place.

Joss Whedon is nearing a deal to write, direct, and produce the standalone movie based on the DC Comics superhero, Variety reports.
