Michael Urie & Becki Newton’s CBS Pilot ‘Fun’ Is Not Moving Forward

It's sad news for Michael Urie and Becki Newton's CBS pilot, Fun.

According to Deadline, the network has decided not to move forward with the project which starred the former Ugly Betty co-stars.

Fun was described as a life-long love story between a brother and a sister, who always encourage each other to have fun – no matter what hardship life is currently serving up.

The show centered on the brother (Urie) returns to his Pennsylvania hometown to help his sister (Newton) run the struggling business after his emotional and devastating break-up with...show business.

While this is unfortunate news, Becki did have something pretty amazing happen to her during quarantine. See what it was...

The former Ugly Betty actress shared the exciting news during an Instagram Live with her longtime friend and co-star Michael Urie on Wednesday (April 15).

Michael, who recently starred on Broadway in the play Grand Horizons, visited Becki in the hospital in between performances of the show. They talked about how different it must be to give birth today than it was just a few months ago.

Ugly Betty’s Michael Urie & Becki Newton to Reunite for CBS Sitcom!

Michael Urie and Becki Newton are reuniting to star in an upcoming CBS comedy series set in a funeral home.

Fun was created by Sex and the City writer Michael Patrick King and former Ugly Betty executive producers Tracy Poust and Jon Kinnally.

Deadline reports that the new series is "a life-long love story between a brother and a sister (Urie and Newton) who always encourage each other to have fun – no matter what hardship life is currently serving up. FUN celebrates life – in spite of the fact that the family business is a funeral home. As they say in their family: 'You can’t spell funeral without f-u-n.' The brother returns to his Pennsylvania hometown to help his sister run the struggling business after his emotional and devastating break-up with… show business."

We hope this show gets picked up!!!
