The 38-year-old actor was joined at the premiere of his film Professor Marston and the Wonder Woman by his co-star Bella Heathcote, who plays the inspiration for Wonder Woman in the film.

Luke and Bella‘s director Angela Robinson was also there and the trio participated in an interview earlier that day at the Variety Studio presented by AT&T and DIRECTV at Momofuku Toronto.

Luke Evans, Rebecca Hall and Bella Heathcote look like superheroes in the new posters for their upcoming film, Professor Marston & The Wonder Women.

The film, written and directed by Angela Robinson, is the real life superhero origin story of what inspired Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston to create the iconic Wonder Woman character in the 1940s.

Luke plays the role of Dr. Marston, while Rebecca plays his wife, Elizabeth Marston. Bella plays their lover, Olive Byrne.

The movie will open in theaters on October 13.

Here’s a synopsis of the movie: In a superhero origin tale unlike any other, the film is the incredible true story of what inspired Harvard psychologist Dr. William Moulton Marston to create the iconic Wonder Woman character in the 1940′s. While Marston’s feminist superhero was criticized by censors for her ‘sexual perversity’, he was keeping a secret that could have destroyed him. Marston’s muses for the Wonder Woman character were his wife Elizabeth Marston and their lover Olive Byrne, two empowered women who defied convention: working with Marston on human behavior research — while building a hidden life with him that rivaled the greatest of superhero disguises.

The film stars Luke, Rebecca Hall, Bella Heathcote, and Connie Britton, and will hit theaters on October 27.

The upcoming movie Professor Marston and the Wonder Women just got its first teaser trailer, though the title of the film isn’t even revealed in the clip!

The teaser was appropriately shown in theaters before Wonder Woman this past weekend.
