Raya and the Last Dragon is No. 1!

The Disney film opened bringing in an estimated $8.6 million during its first weekend at the box office, THR reported Sunday (March 7).

The film’s soft landing was “likely due to the refusal of several key chains — including giant Cinemark Theatres — to carry the fantasy-adventure. That’s because they wanted more generous terms since Raya debuted simultaneously on Disney+ for $30,” according to the outlet.

Overseas, Raya and the Last Dragon opened to $17.6 million from 32 markets for a global total of $26.2 million.

The movie takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where Raya, a lone warrior, must track down the legendary last dragon to stop an evil force that has returned after 500 years to once again threaten her homeworld. Find out who voices each role!

Critics definitely think the movie is worth seeing as it currently has a 95% fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes.

The brand new trailer for Raya and the Last Dragon is finally here!

Here’s a synopsis of the upcoming film: Raya and the Last Dragon takes us on an exciting, epic journey to the fantasy world of Kumandra, where humans and dragons lived together long ago in harmony. But when an evil force threatened the land, the dragons sacrificed themselves to save humanity. Now, 500 years later, that same evil has returned and it’s up to a lone warrior, Raya, to track down the legendary last dragon to restore the fractured land and its divided people. However, along her journey, she’ll learn that it’ll take more than a dragon to save the world—it’s going to take trust and teamwork as well.

The film features an all-star voice cast including Kelly Marie Tran as the intrepid warrior Raya, Awkwafina as the legendary dragon, Sisu, Gemma Chan as Raya’s nemesis, Namaari, Daniel Dae Kim as Raya’s visionary father, Benja, and Sandra Oh as Namaari’s powerful mother, Virana. Raya and the Last Dragon will debut in theaters and on Disney+ simultaneously on March 5, 2021. The film will only be available via Premier Access and will cost $29.99.

Nine Days centers on a reclusive man who conducts a series of interviews with human souls for a chance to be born.

The new trailer for Gemini Man has debuted, and it features Will Smith being chased by a younger version of himself.

Gemini Man is an innovative action-thriller starring Will Smith as Henry Brogan, an elite assassin, who is suddenly targeted and pursued by a mysterious young operative that seemingly can predict his every move.

The film also stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Clive Owen and Benedict Wong, and will hit theaters on October 11, 2019. Be sure to check it out!

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance just revealed more of their star-studded cast!

The Netflix series, which is a prequel to The Dark Crystal, announced that Awkwafina and Lena Headey will be joining the cast.

Other new cast mates include Benedict Wong, Sigourney Weaver, Hannah John-Kamen and Dave Goelz.

They also released character photos for the entire cast!

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance returns to the world of Thra with an all-new adventure. When three Gelfling discover the horrifying secret behind the Skeksis’ power, they set out on an epic journey to ignite the fires of rebellion and save their world.

The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance will premiere on August 30th.

Josh Brolin, Paul Rudd, and Benedict Cumberbatch suit up for the Avengers: Endgame world premiere!

The actors looked sharp at the event held at the Los Angeles Convention Center on Monday (April 22) in Los Angeles.

Josh plays Thanos in Endgame, as he did in Infinity War, Age of Ultron, and Guardians of the Galaxy. Paul plays Scott Lang/Ant-Man in Endgame, as he did in Ant-Man and Captain America: Civil War.

Benedict played Doctor Strange in Infinity War, Thor: Ragnarok, and Doctor Strange, though he isn’t featured in Endgame.

Also in attendance were Endgame and Ant-Man‘s Evangeline Lilly; Endgame, Infinity War, and Doctor Strange‘s Benedict Wong; and Endgame directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo.

Benedict was joined by his wife Sophie Hunter, Josh by his wife Kathryn Boyd, and Paul by his wife Julie Yaeger.

FYI: Josh is wearing Christian Louboutin shoes. Paul and Benedict are wearing Oliver Peoples sunglasses.
