Showtime Announces 'Billions' Season 5B Premiere Date!

The second half of Billions‘ fifth season will be released later this year and Showtime just announced the premiere date!

The first half of the season aired back in May and June 2020 and fans have been waiting for a full year now for the rest of the episodes.

The final five episodes of season five will premiere on Sunday, September 5 at 9pm ET/PT on Showtime. The show has also been renewed for a sixth season, which will premiere early next year.

'Billions' to Return for Season 6 with Corey Stoll as a Series Regular

The Showtime series Billions has been renewed for a sixth season and there is some exciting casting news to share!

Corey Stoll, who was a guest star in season five, has been promoted to a series regular for the upcoming season. He plays Mike Prince, “a social impact pioneer who poses a threat to Damian Lewis’ Axe’s dominance,” according to Deadline.

The fifth season of the series was interrupted due to COVID-19 and only seven out of the season’s 12 episodes were completed. Those episodes aired in May and June and the network hopes that the remaining five episodes will air in 2021, followed by the sixth season.

It is believed that the show will film the end of season five and the sixth season back-to-back.

Showtime's 'Billions' & 'Black Monday' Seasons Split Amid Production Shutdowns!

Showtime has made some changes to its schedule as a result of the current health crisis.

The network has announced that season two of Black Monday, which is currently airing, and season five of Billions will be interrupted mid-flow.

Black Monday will air through six episodes until April 12, at which point it will go on hiatus, returning with its last four episodes at an undetermined point later this year, Variety reports.

Likewise Billions is still on track to premiere their upcoming fifth season on May 3 and air seven episodes un-interrupted, before going off the air for an as yet undecided length of time.

In addition, Showtime has summoned up drama The Chi to help fill the void. The Chi‘s third season, originally scheduled to premiere July 5, has been moved up to June 21.

The entire season of Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels has been finished and will begin airing April 26 as scheduled.

The 53-year-old The Good Wife actress is set to guest star in multiple episodes of the fifth season of Billions, premiering on Sunday, May 3 at 9 pm ET/PT.

The fifth season cast of Billions also includes a recurring guest role from House of Cards star Corey Stoll.

In season five of Billions, Bobby Axelrod (Damien Lewis) and Chuck Rhoades (Paul Giamatti) see their vicious rivalry reignited, while new enemies rise and take aim. Social impact pioneer Mike Prince (Stoll) poses a true threat to Axe’s dominance, and Chuck feuds with a formidable district attorney (Roma Maffia). Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon) is forced back to Axe Capital, where Taylor must fight to protect their employees and their assets. Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff) reevaluates her loyalties and forges surprising new alliances that put her at odds with both Chuck and Axe. This season, the struggle for power becomes a struggle for survival, and all characters must adapt or risk extinction.

Julianna Marguiles is joining the cast of Billions!

The 53-year-old The Good Wife actress is set to guest star in multiple episodes of the fifth season of Billions, Showtime revealed on Tuesday (November 5).

House of Cards star Corey Stoll will also star in the upcoming season.

Julianna will play Catherine Brant, an Ivy League sociology professor and bestselling author. Corey plays Michael Prince, a business titan from a small town in Indiana.

The series stars Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, and the fifth season is currently in production in New York and will return to Showtime in 2020.

The Showtime series is being picked up for a fifth season, the network confirmed on Wednesday (May 8).

The show, which co-stars Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis is currently averaging 4.2 million viewers per week across platforms, and the season four finale will air on June 9.

The show was created and executive produced by Brian Koppelman and David Levien.

Billions is coming back for more!

The Showtime series, which stars Paul Giamatti and Damian Lewis, revealed the official poster and video for the upcoming fourth season on Friday (February 15).

The new season will premiere on March 17 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Here’s a plot summary for the new season: Bobby Axelrod (Lewis) and Chuck Rhoades (Giamatti), former enemies, and Wendy Rhoades (Maggie Siff), the chief counselor to each, have come together to form an uneasy but highly effective alliance, aimed at the eradication of all their rivals, including Grigor Andolov (guest star John Malkovich), Taylor Mason (Asia Kate Dillon), Bryan Connerty (Toby Leonard Moore) and Waylon “Jock” Jeffcoat (guest star Clancy Brown). Ambition and betrayal have long been at the heart of Billions, and this season all the characters find out exactly how high a price they’ll have to pay to satisfy those needs.
