'Sing 2' Reveals First Poster & New Cast Including Halsey, Bono & Pharrell!

Bono just revealed his first ever movie role for Sing 2!

Dreamworks Animation has shared the new cast list, summary and first poster for the upcoming film. Here’s the official summary:

Buster and his cast have turned the New Moon Theater into a local hit, but Buster has his eyes on a bigger prize: Debuting a new show at the Crystal Tower Theater in glamorous Redshore City.

But with no connections, Buster and his cast—including harried mother pig Rosita, rocker porcupine Ash, earnest gorilla Johnny, shy elephant Meena and porcine provocateur extraordinaire Gunter — have to sneak their way into the world-famous Crystal Entertainment offices, run by a ruthless mogul wolf named Jimmy Crystal.

In a desperate attempt to get Mr. Crystal’s attention, Gunter spontaneously pitches an outrageous idea that Buster quickly runs with, promising that their new show will star lion rock legend Clay Calloway. Problem is, Buster has never met Clay, an artist who shut himself away from the world more than a decade ago after the loss of his wife and hasn’t been seen since.

As Gunter helps Buster dream up an out-of-this-world theatrical masterpiece, and the pressure (and sinister threats) from Mr. Crystal mount, Buster embarks on a quest to find Clay and persuade him to return to the stage. What begins as Buster’s dream of big-time success becomes an emotional reminder of the power of music to heal even the most broken heart.

Matthew McConaughey, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, Tori Kelly, Nick Kroll, and Taron Egerton will all return for the movie, along with a handful of new faces!

Sing 2 is coming to theaters Christmas 2021.

“I wanted to thank the artists and everyone who helped make them…they were doing the same for me…I am writing a fan letter to accompany each song to try and explain my fascination.”

Penelope Cruz & Bono Bow Down to Each Other at Award Ceremony in Spain

Penelope Cruz is presented with the Donostia Award by U2 singer Bono during an event at the 2019 San Sebastian Film Festival on Friday (September 27) in San Sebastian, Spain.

The 45-year-old Oscar-winning actress and the 59-year-old rocker both bowed down to each other during the sweet moment on stage.

“Not every actor has a fascinating story off-screen as on. Penelope – her life is fascinating to me off-screen because it’s all about the drama of the family, and the extended family of which I’m blessed to be a part,” Bono said while presenting the award. “Performers like us, like me, we get lost in ourselves. Penelope – she gets lost in everyone else. And that’s why we get lost in her.”

Penelope was joined at the event by her Wasp Network co-stars Gael Garcia Bernal and Edgar Ramirez.

FYI: Penelope is wearing a Chanel Couture dress and Atelier Swarovski jewelry.

U2 Will Bring Their Joshua Tree Tour to Asia & Australia

Fans of U2 in Australia and Asia are in luck as the band will be bringing their smash hit Joshua Tree Tour there!

The band is heading to Singapore and South Korea for the first time ever and this will mark their first time in Australia since 2010.

The original run of the tour celebrated the album’s 30th anniversary back in 2017.

“It’s only taken me 30 years to learn how to sing these songs and it’s great to be able to say that I’ve finally caught up with the band,” Bono said in a statement (via Rolling Stone). “Our audience has given the Joshua Tree a whole new life on this tour. Doing these shows has been very special for us, a lot of emotion… From the despair of how relevant some of the dark songs still are, to the joy, pure fun of the staging… it’s quite a ride. And now we get to do it all over again. Auckland, Brisbane, Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, Sydney, Tokyo, Singapore, Seoul… We’re coming for you.”
