Brant Daugherty shared a funny story about the birth of his son with wife Kim.

In an interview with Access Hollywood, the Fifty Shades actor revealed that he actually missed the baby’s birth!

“He’s three weeks old right now…and he’s just incredible,” Brant gushed about the baby boy, they named Wilder. “He’s just the tiniest little nugget of love and happiness.”

He went on, opening up about how he missed the baby’s birth entirely because he was on the set of a movie in Canada.

“The movie ended 2 days after her due date, so we thought, ok I’ll take the film as a way of providing for my family. And hopefully I’ll make it. Cause a lot of first babies come late,” he recalled. But, “He came a little bit early so I unfortunately missed the birth.”

Brant admits that missing Wilder‘s birth was “heartbreaking.”

“I was stuck in a hotel in Vancouver watching on FaceTime as my son came into the world,” he shared. “My sister in law did [the FaceTime]. So bless her heart. She held the camera up for an hour while it all happened.”

The couple shared the news about Wilder‘s birth earlier this afternoon.

Brant Daugherty and his wife Kim are expecting their first child together!

The couple – who star in and co-wrote A Christmas Movie Christmas together – announced the news in People, saying they were “both ready for the next chapter.”

“When we were first dating and thinking about being exclusive, we had a talk about what we wanted for the future. Marriage and kids were high on the list,” Brant said. “It’s exciting to be at this point now, so far along in the plan.”

About telling Brant the happy news, Kim said, “Brant‘s usually a super early riser, but for some reason on that day, he slept in. I was nervously cleaning the house just waiting for him to wake up, but it also gave me time to set up a secret camera to record his reaction. He was overjoyed.” Brant then joked, “I deny that such a tape exists.”

You may recognize Brant from his work on Pretty Little Liars or from Fifty Shades Freed, where he played Sawyer the security guard. In fact, Brant had an idea for a fourth Fifty Shades movie that fans might be into!

Brant Daugherty, who played the role of Sawyer, part of Christian Grey’s personal security team, in Fifty Shades Freed, is pitching his unique idea for a fourth film in the Fifty Shades of Grey franchise.

“I kept pitching Fifty Shades 4 where Sawyer hunted Christian and Ana for sport but everyone passed for some reason,” Brant tweeted, jokingly.

Well, Fifty Shades author EL James actually liked the idea so…maybe it has some legs!?

Brant Daugherty is a married man!

The 33-year-old Fifty Shades Freed star married Kim Hidalgo on Saturday afternoon (June 15) in Northern California.

Brant and Kim, also 33, exchanged vows in front of 200 close friends and family where the couple’s dogs Luna and Knuckles walked down the aisle with their flower girls and ring bearers.

“We’re so excited to start this next chapter as husband and wife!” the newlyweds told People.

After meeting three years ago on a dating app, Brant proposed to Kim during a trip to Amsterdam in February 2018.

The 33-year-old actor was joined by a couple of close pals for his Bachelor Party on Thursday night (May 9) in Las Vegas.

Brant popped the question to longtime love Kim Hidalgo back in February 2018.

Brant Daugherty is opening up about what happened when he showed up at an interview to be director Bryan Singer‘s assistant years ago.

The 33-year-old Fifty Shades Freed actor spoke out after a new article was released detailing an investigation into allegations against Singer, the director of Bohemian Rhapsody.

“When I first moved to LA, I was looking for work and found a job listing as ‘assistant to an A-List director.’ It ended up being Bryan Singer’s office. His assistant at the time was doing the interviews. When I got there, he took one look at me and told me I didn’t want this job,” Brant wrote on Twitter.

He added, “I really did want the job so I pushed back a little. He politely told me that this wasn’t a good fit for me. Bryan would have a difficult time working near me. I thanked him and left. This sh-t has been known for years.”

Bryan released a statement in response to the allegations in which he called The Atlantic‘s new article a “homophobic smear piece.”
