Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall Is First Royal to Publicly Wear Face Mask

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall wears a face mask during a visit to Boots Piccadilly Store to hear about their support of the charity Hestia’s Safe Spaces program for victims of domestic violence as well as to learn about the company’s response to the coronavirus pandemic on Tuesday (July 28) in London, England.

This is the first time we’ve seen any British royal in a face mask. The Duchess chose to wear a design by couture designer Fiona Clare.

If you don’t know, Duchess Camilla‘s husband Prince Charles battled the Coronavirus earlier on in the pandemic and he revealed one of his main symptoms of the virus.

Prince Charles Lost His Sense of Taste & Smell From Coronavirus

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall seem to practice social distancing while greeting front line workers who who have responded to the COVID-19 pandemic during a visit to Gloucestershire Royal Hospital on Tuesday (June 16) in Gloucester, England.

During their visit, Prince Charles, 71, reportedly revealed one of the symptoms he experienced during his own battle with the Coronavirus.

“He [Prince Charles] did speak of his personal experience, so first-hand experience for him. He also spoke about his loss of smell and taste and, sort of, still felt he’s still got it now,” healthcare assistant Jeff Mills told the Daily Mail about talking to the Prince.

Prince Charles previously spoke about the most “ghastly” effect the pandemic had on everyone.

Prince Charles Is Out of Isolation & In 'Good Health'

Following his diagnosis of the global illness going around, Prince Charles is now out of his seven day isolation period.

“Clarence House has confirmed today that, having consulted with his doctor, the Prince of Wales is now out of self-isolation,” a spokesman said (via ITV’s Chris Ship) on Monday (March 30). The statement added that he is in “good health.”

Per the UK government instructions, the Duchess of Cornwall is still in self-isolation, as those without any symptoms must remain isolated for 14 days.

Duchess Camilla Releases Important Message About Domestic Violence During Quarantine

Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall has issued an important statement about domestic violence during the time of quarantine.

“This is a hard time for everyone, as we are all asked to stay at home to stay safe. But for some of you it is even harder, because home is not a safe place,” Camilla‘s message read, and was posted on Clarence House‘s official Twitter.

It continued, “I can only imagine that being asked to stay there could feel very isolating and frightening for you and your family. It may mean spending more time with the person who is harming you. If this is your situation, or you are worried about someone else, I want you to know that you are not alone..”

“Even if you cannot leave your home, you can call the National Domestic Abuse Helpline or contact one of the domestic violence charities. Please stay safe and get help.”

Camilla, who tested negative for coronavirus, has been an active spokesperson for domestic abuse in the past, and will continue to be.

Scotland's Chief Medical Officer Responds to Backlash Over Prince Charles Receiving Coronavirus Test

There has been some backlash over why Prince Charles and his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall were able to both get tested for Coronavirus, aka COVID-19, when his symptoms are mild and she has tested negative.

The UK’s National Health System (aka the NHS) has expressly stated on their website that people will “generally’ be tested if they have “a serious illness that requires admission to hospital.”

The BBC is noting that “many frontline medical workers” cannot obtain tests for patients.

Catherine Calderwood, the Chief Medical Officer for Scotland, responded in a statement.

“I have spoken to the team…who were looking after the individual [Prince Charles]. My understanding is there were very good reasons for that person and his wife to be tested, and obviously I wouldn’t be able to disclose anything else that I know because of patient confidentiality,” she said.

Prince Charles & Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall Cancel Royal Tour Amid Coronavirus Fears

Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall are cancelling their royal tour.

The royal couple planned to embark on a royal tour from March 17 to March 25 in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Jordan and the Republic of Cyrus, but it’s been delayed due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak.

“Owing to the unfolding situation with the Coronavirus pandemic, The British Government has asked Their Royal Highnesses to postpone their spring tour to Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cyprus and Jordan,” their office said in a statement.

They are reportedly working on how they “can use their time to undertake engagement in the U.K. while avoiding large gatherings, in line with current government advice,” according to People.

The royal tour is only one of many festivals, tours, and large-scale organized events being postponed or canceled due to the ongoing coronavirus outbreak. Find out what else…

Prince Charles & Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, Join Queen Elizabeth & Family at Commonwealth Day Services!

Prince Charles is dapper in a suit as he makes his way inside for Commonwealth Day Service 2020 at the Westminster Abbey on Monday (March 9) in London, England.

The 71-year-old Prince of Wales was accompanied by his wife Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, as well as Queen Elizabeth as they were all escorted inside by the priests ahead of the ceremony.

If you don’t know, the day celebrates the Commonwealth aka the British territories around the world, which represents 2.4 billion people and 54 countries, working in collaboration towards shared economic, environmental, social and democratic goals.

Kate Middleton, Prince William, Meghan Markle and Prince Harry were all also spotted making their way inside for Commonwealth Day Service 2020 separately.
