Carl Lentz is getting some help.
The 42-year-old former Hillsong Church pastor will be getting treatment at an outpatient facility “that specializes in depression, anxiety, and pastoral burnout,” People reported Tuesday (December 8).

Carl has been making headlines for the last month after he was fired from the celeb-favorite church for “moral failures.” He admitted in a statement that he cheated on his wife and recently the couple has moved from New Jersey to Los Angeles, with their kids, to reportedly work on their marriage.
“He wants to be better for his family and is dedicated to doing the work. His family is supporting him and hopes their privacy will be respected on this journey. He has no ill will towards the church and recognizes that they needed to take some course of action to address his missteps,” a source told the outlet.

A new report from this week claims that Carl actually had “multiple affairs” and a leaked audio recording from Hillsong church founder Brian Houston revealed more details.
“When we talk about an affair. These issues were more than one affair, they were significant. And at least some bad moral behavior had gone back historically, but not necessarily those affairs,” Houston said in the recording obtained by Page Six.
Houston also claimed there were issues with Lentz before the affair allegations. He said, “He was a difficult man to have any kind of direct conversation with because it was always defensive, it would always be put back on the other person, as though they were the ones with the problem. They were not easy meetings and I already at the point at the end of summer that I felt like Carl and Laura’s time in New York was coming to an end … not just general narcissistic behavior, manipulating, mistreating people … I think sometimes other hurtful things, the breaches of trust connected to lying, constantly lying … basically, broken trust.”

It appears as if Justin and Hailey Bieber have both unfollowed pastor Carl Lentz, the disgraced figure head at Hillsong, after his cheating scandal.
Fans noticed in the past few days that Hailey no longer followed the disgraced pastor, and now, moments ago, fans started tweeting that it looks like Justin no longer follows him either.

Justin and Hailey both do not follow Carl‘s wife Laura, and it appears as if Carl and Laura have unfollowed the A-list couple as well. At the time of this publication, this information is accurate, however, they could easily re-follow. At one point, Justin had a close relationship with the family.

Carl Lentz was fired from celeb-fave church Hillsong for “moral failures” and now we’re learning more about what happened in his very own words.
The pastor, who was close with Justin and Hailey Bieber, revealed he was unfaithful to his wife Laura Lentz.
“Our time at HillsongNYC has come to an end. This is a hard ending to what has been the most amazing, impacting and special chapter of our lives. Leading this church has been an honor in every sense of the word and it is impossible to articulate how much we have loved and will always love the amazing people in this church. When you accept the calling of being a pastor, you must live in such a way that it honors the mandate. That it honors the church, and that it honors God. When that does not happen, a change needs to be made and has been made in this case to ensure that standard is upheld,” he began on Instagram.
“Laura and I and our amazing children have given all that we have to serve and build this church and over the years I did not do an adequate job of protecting my own spirit, refilling my own soul and reaching out for the readily available help that is available,” he continued.
He then revealed, “When you lead out of an empty place, you make choices that have real and painful consequences. I was unfaithful in my marriage, the most important relationship in my life and held accountable for that. This failure is on me, and me alone and I take full responsibility for my actions. I now begin a journey of rebuilding trust with my wife, Laura and my children and taking real time to work on and heal my own life and seek out the help that I need.”
“I am deeply sorry for breaking the trust of many people who we have loved serving and understand that this news can be very hard and confusing for people to hear and process. I would have liked to say this with my voice, to you, in person because you are owed that. But that opportunity I will not have. So to those people, I pray you can forgive me and that over time I can live a life where trust is earned again. To our pastors Brian and Bobbie, thank you for allowing us to lead, allowing us to thrive and giving us room to have a voice that you have never stifled or tried to silence. Thank you for your grace and kindness especially in this season, as you have done so much to protect and love us through this. We, the Lentz family, don’t know what this next chapter will look like, but we will walk into it together very hopeful and grateful for the grace of God,” he concluded.

Carl Lentz, megachurch pastor, has been fired from his position at Hillsong due to “moral failures.”
The megachurch’s founder Brian Houston announced the 41-year-old pastor’s termination in a statement on Wednesday (November 4).
“Today Hillsong Church East Coast advised our congregation that we have terminated the employment of Pastor Carl Lentz,” Houston said in a statement obtained by People. “This action was not taken lightly and was done in the best interests of everyone, including Pastor Carl.”
He added that Carl‘s firing comes after “ongoing discussions in relation to leadership issues and breaches of trust, plus a recent revelation of moral failures.” Houston also said that it would “not be appropriate” to go further into why Carl was fired.
Carl first became a pastor at the New York location of Hillsong in 2010. He quickly rose in popularity in the church, while bringing several high-profiled celebs into the church.
Carl became a close spiritual confidant to Justin Bieber several years ago. The 26-year-old singer briefly lived with Carl in 2014 and Carl provided guidance for Justin after his breakup from Selena Gomez in 2017.
“We thank Pastors Carl and [wife] Laura for the way they have served faithfully and sacrificially since the start of Hillsong NYC and for contributing so significantly to the countless lives that have been transformed for Jesus Christ through this ministry,” Houston added. “They have a heart for people and we are confident that after a time of rest and restoration, God will use Carl in another way outside of Hillsong church. In terminating his tenure, we in no way want to diminish the good work he did here.”
Carl Lentz has not publicly addressed his firing yet.
