Chad Michael Murray is doing something sweet for one of his fans!

The 37-year-old One Tree Hill actor stopped by Bailee Madison and Kaitlin Vilasuso‘s Just Between Us podcast to surprise 18-year-old three time cancer survivor Alexandra Wilson, who found escape during treatments by watching One Tree Hill.

After an emotional meeting, Chad told the story of becoming an actor, and how it was inspired by his time spent in a hospital as a teenager.

“When I was fifteen, I was in the hospital. Nothing, I mean, even comparable. I was there for about three months, and I became an actor because I wanted to create entertainment to keep people’s minds off it – to keep it in great places. And that’s what’s so beautiful. My goal always was – I remember, you know what it was for me? It was Scooby Doo…and The Simpsons is what made me happy. I would sit in bed, and I remember how lonely I was,” he explained.

“And I’d just turn on the TV and I’d just forget about everything that was going on for so long. I said, ‘That’s what I want to do. I want to be an actor someday so that I can give that to somebody else as a kid.’ So, you just brought everything full circle to know that you were sitting there, and watching something that we put our heart and soul into. Thank you so much. That warms my heart, beyond – you have no idea.”

Chad Michael Murray is heading back to television!

The 37-year-old actor will have a heavily recurring role in the upcoming third season of Fox’s Star, according to Deadline.

Chad will reportedly play Xander McPherson, an “opportunistic real estate investor who is involved in a toxic relationship with Cassie Brown.”

While Xander plays white collar, he learned his hustle on the street and knows how to use his charm and power to get what he wants.

Star‘s new season debuts on September 26th at 9 PM.

Chad was formally involved in another music drama, CMT’s short-lived Sun Records.

Chad Michael Murray‘s wife Sarah Roemer is speaking out in response to the comments that the actor’s ex-wife Sophia Bush made about marrying him at a young age.

Chad and Sophia, who were co-stars on One Tree Hill, got married in 2005 and split months later. In an interview this week, she said “everybody’s been 22 and stupid. It was not a thing I actually really wanted to do.” She implied in the interview that the producers of the series encouraged the marriage.

Sarah, who met Chad on the set of their series Chosen, poked fun at the comments while sharing a meme on her Instagram account on Thursday (June 14).

“Wait a second… my producers also made me marry Chad Michael Murray!” the meme read. Sarah adding these hashtags: “Do it for the crew,” “I kid,” “I love my husband,” “Family man,” “I want to be Chad when I grow up,” “13 years later,” and “I wish peace and love for all.”

Chad‘s rep released a statement slamming the comments made by Sophia.

Chad Michael Murray‘s rep is slamming Sophia Bush‘s recent interview where she said she didn’t want to marry him back in 2005 but did so because of pressure.

“[The] story is ludicrous,” Chad‘s rep told People. “Chad conducts himself in a completely professional manner and would never marry for any reason but love. Thirteen years since his divorce from Sophia, he has a very happy family life with his wife and children.”

“He has completely moved on and doesn’t feel the need to engage in this type of behavior,” the statement added.

Sophia Bush was asked about her short marriage to her One Tree Hill co-star Chad Michael Murray, who she met on set and married in 2005 (before splitting five months later.)

“Everybody’s been 22 and stupid,” Sophia told Andy Cohen on his Sirius Xm show. “It was not a thing I actually really wanted to do. Ladies have to learn how to take up space in a way men are taught they are entitled to!”

Andy asked for further clarification that how she could marry someone who she didn’t really want to marry. Sophia responded, “Because how do you let everybody down and how do you- what’s the fight and when you have bosses telling you that you’re the only person who gets a person to work on time and 200 people either get to see their kids at night or they don’t because our days start on time.”

“Life is always loaded,” she said. “What the public knows ever is never- it’s not the tip of the iceberg. Hilarie [Burton] and I used to laugh and we were like, ‘If we had a behind-the-scenes show, the drama would be so much f–king better than the drama that the writers write.’”

Chad Michael Murray has finally received some answers to a major family secret.

While appearing on the latest episode of Hollywood Medium with Tyler Henry, the 36-year-old former One Tree Hill star learned the truth about his grandmother really died.

“The speculation from the stories that I got from my grandfather was that he was arrested for her murder,” Chad shared. “She died at 17 and she just had my mother. She was found with her hands tied behind her back, hung in the basement. So there was a fall, just in a different way. And then after that, he was cleared and they didn’t really have enough evidence to say, ‘It was you that did it.’ ”

According to Tyler, Chad‘s late grandmother died by suicide.

“There was this woman who came through who I acknowledged passing away tragically. But it came through in a way of like, taking accountability to some extent for her actions,” Henry revealed. “But I’m thinking that it might have been even her way of kinda trying to come through and say, ‘Hey, this is something that I’m putting more on myself.’”

Chad Michael Murray is standing with the women of One Tree Hill after sexual harassment allegations were made against the showrunner, Mark Schwahn.

“The women of OTH have always been strong and incredible,” the 36-year-old actor said in a statement (via EW). “Today they’ve made us all even more proud by standing as a beacon of what is right, and continuing to lead & change the atmosphere of society. This affects all avenues of life, from our day to day activities in passing to each and every single work place. Respect and love must lead the way. A new frontier has arrived & it’s an honor to see all women stand up to the opposition that has caused so much pain. Equal rights & equal treatment isn’t an option, it is mandatory. Equality, safety and respect for all is the goal. I stand with all the those who have suffered & pray that this evil will meet its demise in the strength of this movement. OTH Women- I’m so dang proud of you.”

Several women on the show came forward with a letter and the men of the show have been supporting them.
