Saturday Night Live has seen so many fantastic guest stars over its nearly 50 year run – but not everyone is exactly welcome back to Studio 8H.

From controversial performers who managed to do something shocking on stage to actors and comedians who had confrontations on and off-screen, there are some stars along the way who have done or said something controversial enough to be banned from hosting or performing on the show ever again.

Charles Grodin Dead - 'Beethoven' & 'Heartbreak Kid' Star Dies at 86

Charles Grodin, well known for his acting work in films like The Heartbreak Kid, Midnight Run and for playing the father in the Beethoven movies, has passed away at the age of 86.

The 86-year-old actor passed away on Tuesday (May 18) at his home in Wilton, Connecticut. The cause of death was bone marrow cancer, the New York Times reports. No official statement has been released at this time.

Charles has over 70 acting credits to his name with his most recent coming in 2017 with his role in An Imperfect Murder.

Our thoughts are with Charles‘ friends, family, and loved ones during this difficult time. RIP.
