Chloe Bennet Calls Out President Trump for 'Disgusting' Use of 'Chinese Virus' as Racist Deflection

Chloe Bennet is calling out President Donald Trump for his continued use of the term “Chinese Virus” to describe the ongoing coronavirus crisis and to “deflect from his own incompetence.”

The 27-year-old star of Marvel‘s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. spoke out in an Instagram post on Wednesday (March 17).

“The new wave of rhetoric from the White House, referring to COVID-19 as the ‘Chinese virus’ is unacceptable. The attitude of the country reflects its leadership. And to have our president ignite racial hatred simply so he can deflect from his own incompetence, is disgusting. Let’s be clear. This is a very intentional publicity play by our current administration to take attention away from the COMPLETE mishandling of the virus on American soil,” she wrote.

Many other stars have joined Chloe in calling out Trump for the racist rhetoric – find out who else.
