Emmanuel Acho is heading to The Bachelor!

AbC has announced that the 30-year-old analyst for Fox Sports 1, author, and former NFL player will be hosting The Bachelor: After the Final Rose special on Monday, March 15.

Emmanuel will be sitting down with this season’s Bachelor Matt James immediately after the finale to talk about his “season, his final decision and where he is now, as well as cover the current events about the franchise,” according to a press release issued on Saturday (February 27) via People. “Acho will also speak with the final three women, Bri [Springs], Michelle [Young] and Rachael [Kirkconnell] during the one-hour special.”

Shortly after ABC made the announcement, Emmanuel took to Instagram to share a statement.

“IT’S OFFICIAL: I’ve accepted the Rose and am honored to be hosting the @bachelorabc After the Final Rose this year,” Emmanuel wrote. “It’s been a pivotal season, and this episode will hopefully be one of the most storied shows in TV history. Empathy is needed and change is coming. Share the news! I’ll see y’all then! 🌹 ❤️”

The announcement comes a few weeks after The Bachelor host Chris Harrison said that he was “stepping aside” from the franchise after he came under fire for defending Rachael amid her racism controversy. He also said that he would not be hosting the After the Final Rose.

Days before ABC announced Emmanuel would be the host of the special, former The Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay actually suggested him as the host.

“[He's] very outspoken about racial injustice, for social justice, and has pretty much been the person who said, ‘I can have these uncomfortable conversations, and people trust it,’” Rachel said of Emmanuel in an interview with People. “Who better to lead it? [He's] someone who’s not involved with the franchise, no ties, no bias — I think it’d be great.”

The Bachelor: After the Final Rose will air on Monday, March 15 at 10 p.m. ET on ABC, immediately following the season finale of The Bachelor.

Rachel Lindsay is speaking out in response to The Bachelor host Chris Harrison‘s decision to step away from the franchise for a “period of time” amid a racism controversy.

Chris‘ decision to step away from the show happened after he defended The Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell against claims that she had been racist in her past behavior. During the interview with Rachel Lindsay, he said that the “woke police” was out to get her and that there is a difference in how one behaves in 2018 vs. in 2021.

Chris later apologized for his words, but the damage was done and Rachel, a former star of The Bachelorette who now works for Extra, said that she is leaving the franchise when her current contract is over.

Now, Rachel is speaking out in response to Chris‘ apology and his announcement to take time away from the franchise.

Lauren Zima is addressing the racism controversy surrounding boyfriend Chris Harrison.

The 33-year-old Entertainment Tonight host took to her Instagram Story on Saturday (February 13) to share a short message after the 49-year-old The Bachelor host announced he was going to be temporarily stepping down from hosting the dating competition series.

“What Chris said was wrong and disappointing,” Lauren wrote. “Defending racism can never happen. Accountability comes first, what’s next is learning and growth.”

Chris‘ decision to take a break from The Bachelor comes after he faced major backlash for defending current contestant Rachael Kirkconnell against claims that she had been racist in her past behavior. He said that the “woke police” was out to get her and that there is a difference in how one behaves in 2018 vs. in 2021.

In his apology, Chris said that he was “deeply remorseful” for what he said and apologized for his “ignorance.” You can read his entire apology here.

Rachel Lindsay is slamming the Bachelor Nation franchise and says she’s done once her contract is over.

The 35-year-old reality star was previously the first Black Bachelorete back in 2017 and now she works as a correspondent for Extra.

Rachel interviewed host Chris Harrison this week and they had a 14-minute conversation about current The Bachelor contestant Rachael Kirkconnell and the backlash over her past racist behavior.

During the interview, Chris defended Rachael and constantly undermined the points that Rachel was making. He later apologized for perpetuating racism within the franchise.

Now, Rachel is speaking out about what happened this week.

“I can’t take it anymore,” she said on the Higher Learning with Van Lathan and Rachel Lindsay podcast. “I’m contractually bound in some ways, but when it’s up, I am, too. I can’t. I can’t do it anymore.”

Chris Harrison has issued an apology for his recent comments.

The 49-year-old The Bachelor host received some backlash over comments he made to former The Bachelorette Rachel Lindsay during an Extra interview on Tuesday (February 9).

In that interview, Chris and Rachel discussed the social media controversy surrounding Rachael Kirkconnell, who is currently competing on Matt James‘ season of the hit dating reality show.

Chris and Rachel discussed the photos that recently surfaced on Reddit of Rachael attending a fraternity party back in 2018. The party was described as “antebellum plantation themed ball.”

Chris said that he had not spoken to Rachael about the photos yet, but did say “we all need to have a little grace, a little understanding, a little compassion.”

Rachel then pointed out that attending the event is “not a good look,” to which Chris responded: “Is it [not] a good look in 2018? Or is it not a good look in 2021? Because there’s a big difference.”

Chris then added, “The woke police is out there. And this poor girl Rachael, who has just been thrown to the lions, I don’t know how you are equipped when you have never done this before, to be woke enough, to be eloquent enough, to be ready to handle this.”

After the interview went viral, Chris received a lot of backlash for seemingly defending Rachael amid the racist claims.

On Wednesday (February 10), Chris released an apology on Instagram regarding the matter.

Is Chris Harrison really leaving The Bachelor?! Not so fast…

Over the past several weeks, rumors have been swirling the 49-year-old longtime host of the dating reality show might be leaving The Bachelor after plans were revealed that he is building a new home in Texas – and Wells Adams is in talks to replace him.

“It’s the dumbest thing I’ve ever heard,” the 36-year-old Bachelor in Paradise bartender said in an interview with People.

“First of all, Chris isn’t going anywhere,” Wells continued. “He’s got the best job in Hollywood. Tom Hanks would agree that he has the best job in Hollywood. He’s not going anywhere.”

Wells added, “And I know that everyone’s like, well, he’s moving to Texas. Guess what, everybody? It’s a travel show. He can live in Timbuktu and still do the show. They only film a week and a half in Agoura Hills. The rest of the show is off everywhere else.”
