'Saturday Night Live' Stars Who Broke Character During Skits

There’s a lot of pressure when it comes to putting on an episode of Saturday Night Live: it is live, after all.

As a result, cast members and hosts need to stick to their scripts closely in order to keep the sketches flowing smoothly – and they also need to keep a straight face as they fly through dozens of jokes every night. But what happens when they…can’t?

Time and time again, we’ve watched over the years as the cast of SNL, and myriad celebrity hosts, absolutely lose it after cracking up at one of the jokes they’ve said, the sheer absurdity of the sketch, or something entirely unexpected happening in a scene. In most cases, it only makes the sketch even more hilarious for the audience watching at home.

We’ve rounded up some of the best moments where the SNL stars have absolutely lost it during a sketch.

Christopher Walken Reveals He Has Never Owned a Cell Phone Or Computer

Christopher Walken just confirmed a rumor about himself that has been spreading for years.

During an interview on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, he was asked if it’s true that he’s “never owned a computer or a cell phone.”

Christopher, who was appearing over Zoom, responded, “Yes, somebody had to come and set this up because I don’t have a cellphone or a computer.”

He added he’s not “morally, philosophically [or] emotionally opposed [to it,]…I just got to it too late.”

“I think I’m right at a certain age where it just passed me by,” he continued. “And I never got involved in it because it would be strange to have any 10-year-old be much better at it than I am.”

Christopher is 77 years old and his career spans many decades. He won an Oscar in 1979 for his work in The Deer Hunter.

Will Ferrell Says 'SNL' 'More Cowbell' Sketch 'Ruined' Christopher Walken's Life - Watch!

Did a classic Saturday Night Live skit actually ruin lives? Will Ferrell believes so!

The 52-year-old SNL star made the surprising revelation about one of his iconic skits, the “More Cowbell” sketch with Christopher Walken, while discussing it with Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Thursday (November 21).

“Here’s the crazy thing. I go to see Christopher Walken years later, in a play. I say hello to him backstage and he’s like, ‘You know, you’ve ruined my life,’” he said.

“People during curtain call bring cowbells. The other day I went for Italian food for lunch, and the waiter asked if I wanted more cowbell with my pasta bolognese.’ I think he’s really mad,” Will went on to say.

Although, he admitted Christopher “had a little smile” while talking.

“From The Deer Hunter to Pulp Fiction to ‘More Cowbell’ — that’s all he gets,” he joked.
