Daisy Ridley Recalls Her ‘Awkward’ First Meeting with ‘Chaos Walking’ Co-Star Tom Holland

Daisy Ridley is recalling meeting her Chaos Walking co-star Tom Holland for the first time!

In a new interview, the 28-year-old actress talked about meeting the 24-year-old actor for the first back, admitting it was really "awkward."

"We met the night that Tom won his BAFTA, and it was so weird because we both knew we were doing it [the movie Chaos Walking], but we didn’t know when and we didn’t know how," Daisy shared with AP Entertainment.

If you forgot, Tom won the BAFTA Rising Star Award back in 2017.

"And then we met again on the plane - it was actually hilarious, because we met again on the plane, not to Montreal, but we were in those seats that face each other and it’s super awkward when you don’t really know someone, so we would put the screen up really slowly and the screen takes ages to go up and you’re like, ‘Oh my god, so awkward.’ But no, it ended up being great," Daisy said with a laugh.

Daisy and Tom's Chaos Walking will be released on March 5. You can check out the trailer here.

During another recent interview, Daisy Ridley says she "would love" to play this superhero!

Daisy Ridley Delivers Epic Ted Cruz Burn After He Insults Her ‘Star Wars’ Character

Daisy Ridley delivered an epic burn directed at Ted Cruz, the Senator from Texas, amid his controversy over going on a last minute vacation to Mexico while his state was in the middle of a massive weather emergency.

Well, in a new interview, the Senator's comments about Gina Carano being fired from The Mandalorian resurfaced. Gina was fired, if you don't remember, for comparing being a conservative in America today to being Jewish in Nazi Germany.

"Texan Gina Carano broke barriers in the Star Wars universe: not a princess, not a victim, not some emotionally tortured Jedi," Cruz said. "She played a woman who kicked ass & who girls looked up to. She was instrumental in making 'Star Wars' fun again. Of course Disney canceled her."

In an interview with Yahoo, Daisy was asked about Cruz's statement.

She responded, "I am very happy to be an emotionally tortured Jedi who doesn’t leave their state when it’s having a terrible time.”

Ted Cruz's wife's texts were actually leaked amid all the drama surrounding their tropical vacation.

Daisy Ridley Explains Why She Has No Plans on Returning to Social Media

Daisy Ridley is enjoying life off of social media.

The 28-year-old Star Wars actress, who has been off social media since 2016, opened up in a new interview about why she has no plans on returning to "terrifying" world of social media.

"I have managed to separate my personal life well from my professional life, partly probably because I’m not on social media," Daisy shared with Spanish magazine S Moda.

"The statistics that link them (social media sites) to anxiety are terrifying," Daisy continued. "I have friends completely addicted to their phone who have suffered with this problem."

Daisy admitted that from time to time she is tempted to check out Instagram or Twitter, but she's refraining from joining again.

"I don’t want to go back, but sometimes I think about it," Daisy shared. "But the truth is that no, I won’t be returning."

This isn't the first time she's talked about quitting social media. Back June 2019, Daisy said that she needed to get off social media because other people's opinions started to affect her mentally.

Daisy Ridley Explains Why She Won’t Discuss Her Personal Life

Daisy Ridley is opening up about her decision to keep her private life to herself.

In a time when so many A-list stars have social media accounts where they let fans into their everyday lives, Daisy is one of the few who don't participate.

"I don’t know. What I do know is that when I signed on to Star Wars, there was nothing in my contract that said, 'Your life will be talked about,'" Daisy said in a new interview with Tatler.

She continued, "It got to the point where I realized so much of my life was out there. People knew my mum’s name, my dad’s name, what my sisters do for a living. And I thought it would be nice to have something that’s for me, that isn’t for everybody else. I just thought I would keep that separate."

Daisy has been in a relationship with her Murder on the Orient Express co-star Tom Bateman for years and rumors have swirled that they got married this year, but nothing was ever confirmed. Photos showed the couple wearing what looks to be wedding rings.

During the interview, she spoke about how she's been perceived while at work.

"I’ve been told that I’m intimidating," she said.

"That was on Chaos Walking. I was having my hair done, having my wig put on. I remember thinking, 'God, should I be smaller? Should I be quieter?'" she went on to explain.

Chaos Walking is an upcoming sci-fi directed by Doug Liman, in which she stars as Viola Eade, opposite Tom Holland, who plays Todd Hewitt. The movie is expected to open in theaters on March 5, 2021.

She also revealed that a director once told her that she was "quite aggressive."

"I’ve been called aggressive, too. My energy is 'quite aggressive.' I was thinking: 'But why? Is it because I maintained eye contact? Is it because I’m passionate about what we’re talking about?' I dunno," she said.

"You have that horrible sinking feeling of, 'God, do I not come across the way I think I do?'"

It was recently revealed that she's going to star in a movie about the first woman to accomplish this big feat.
