Fox Is Launching a Series by 'Rick & Morty' Creator Dan Harmon on the Blockchain & Creating a NFT Company

Rick & Morty‘s Dan Harmon is up to something on the Blockchain.

The 48-year-old writer and comedian will be launching an animated comedy called Krapopolis with Fox, the network announced Tuesday (May 19) via THR.

The show is described as “the first-ever animated series curated entirely on the Blockchain,” and will come with a brand-new NFT company, called Blockchain Creative Labs.

Alison Brie & 'Community' Cast Pledge For Movie If Creator Dan Harmon Writes It!

The cast of Community are ready for more!

At day two of the 2019 Vulture Festival at The Roosevelt Hotel on Sunday (November 10) in Hollywood, show creator Dan Harmon and writer Chris McKenna were joined at a special panel by cast members Joel McHale, Alison Brie, Gillian Jacobs, Danny Pudi, Jim Rash, Yvette Nicole Brown and Ken Jeong.

During the panel, Dan Harmon called the constant guessing about a future feature film “a weird Ouija board thing. Who is supposed to say, ‘everyone do this’?,” he questioned (via Vulture). “That’s what I’ve always said. I don’t know how it starts.”

“I think it starts with you, Dan,” Alison Brie said quipped.

“Yeah, then I write it and half the people are like, ‘meh, I don’t want to do it’,” Harmon protested. “This is absolutely the thing… of which I am most proud, forever and ever. Network TV is not necessarily dead, but it’s turned into a different thing with [all the] streaming platforms now. We were there with Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, and we were there at the end of this crazy era — the end of must-see TV.”

'Community' Creator Dan Harmon Says a Movie Could Happen

Joel McHale and Alison Brie arrive at The Cast Of Community On Moving To Digital panel held during 2015 SXSW Music, Film + Interactive Festival at Austin Convention Center on Sunday (March 15) in Austin, Texas.

The pair was joined by their co-stars Gillian Jacobs, Ken Jeong, Paget Brewster, and Jim Rash, as well as creator Dan Harmon, who opened up about the possibility of a movie.

“Yahoo seems down for just about anything,” Dan said (via Variety). “I don’t know why they’d turn their nose up to a movie about a low-rated show. They seem to be very naive.”
