If you don’t know, an alternate ending was actually filmed for Game of Thrones. Fans actually demanded a reshoot from HBO but were not successful in their efforts.

'Game of Thrones' Creators Set 'Lovecraft'-Inspired Thriller Film

The Game of Thrones creators, ages 48 and 49, respectively, are teaming up with Warner Bros. for the thriller film, Deadline reports.

The untitled movie will reportedly ask the question: “What if H.P. Lovecraft wasn’t making it up? What if the monsters he created are real?”

The film will also reportedly be set in 1920 “within the Cthulhu mythos.”

D.B. Weiss and David Benioff have been in talks about the project for several years while they were working on Game of Thrones.

'GOT' Creators David Benioff & D.B. Weiss Exit 'Star Wars' Deal

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were supposed to launch the next trilogy in the Star Wars film franchise, but the guys have walked away from their deal with Disney and Lucasfilm.

The new film trilogy was slated to launch in 2022 and was going to follow a post-Skywalker era.

“We love Star Wars,” the pair told Deadline in a statement. “When George Lucas built it, he built us too. Getting to talk about Star Wars with him and the current Star Wars team was the thrill of a lifetime, and we will always be indebted to the saga that changed everything.”

The reason for their departure from the deal is their deal with Netflix. They simply don’t have the time to work on Star Wars right now, but the door is still open.

“There are only so many hours in the day, and we felt we could not do justice to both Star Wars and our Netflix projects,” they said. “So we are regretfully stepping away.”

Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy said, “David Benioff and Dan Weiss are incredible storytellers. We hope to include them in the journey forward when they are able to step away from their busy schedule to focus on Star Wars.”

If you aren’t aware, Benioff and Weiss are the creators of HBO’s smash hit series Game of Thrones.

'Game of Thrones' Showrunners Address 'Funny' Coffee Cup Mishap!

The Game of Thrones showrunners are addressing the coffee cup mishap for the first time!

D.B. Weiss and David Benioff are talking about the Starbucks cup that accidentally appeared in season eight’s fourth episode and they’re finding the whole situation “funny.”

“We were concentrating so much on Daenerys and Jon Snow that we just didn’t see this coffee cup right in the middle,” David shared with Japan’s Star Channel. “So at first I couldn’t believe it, and then it was an embarrassment because, ‘How did we not see this coffee cup in the middle of the shot?’ And then, eventually, it was just funny. This one is just a mistake, and it’s kind of funny to us now.”

David then went on to compare the mistake to making a Persian rug, explaining that “it’s tradition that you make a little mistake, because only God can do anything perfect. So I guess for us, that was just our… Persian rug.”

D.B. then chimed in, jokingly adding, “That’s why I put the coffee cup there.”

'Game of Thrones' Creators David Benioff & D.B. Weiss Heading to Netflix

David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have struck a big deal with Netflix.

The Game of Thrones showrunners, both age 48, teamed up with the streaming giant for a multimillion-dollar, multi-year overall deal, Variety reports.

The duo will write, produce, and direct new series and films exclusively at Netflix.

“We are thrilled to welcome master storytellers David Benioff and Dan Weiss to Netflix,” Netflix chief content officer Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “They are a creative force and have delighted audiences worldwide with their epic storytelling. We can’t wait to see what their imaginations will bring to our members.”

“We’ve had a beautiful run with HBO for more than a decade and we’re grateful to everyone there for always making us feel at home,” David Benioff and D.B. Weiss added. “Over the past few months we’ve spent many hours talking to Cindy Holland and Peter Friedlander, as well as Ted Sarandos and Scott Stuber. We remember the same shots from the same ‘80s movies; we love the same books; we’re excited about the same storytelling possibilities. Netflix has built something astounding and unprecedented, and we’re honored they invited us to join them.”
