David Dobrik Releases Second Apology Video Amid Vlog Squad Assault Allegations & Brands Dropping Out

David Dobrik is once again speaking to his audience.

After issuing a video called “Let’s Talk” amid allegations of sexual misconduct against Vlog Squad member Dominykas Zeglaitis, the 24-year-old YouTuber spoke out again in a new video on Tuesday (March 23).

“I’ve put myself in a lot of situations where I needed to apologize for my past actions and I’ve never done this correctly. I’ve never done this respectfully, and my last video is a testament to that,” he said.

“I don’t want to defend that video. I don’t want to delete that video. I just want to be clear.”

In regards to a video that the YouTube stars filmed about group sex, David spoke to a woman’s allegations that she was raped by Dom after being given alcohol before blacking out and was unable to give consent.

“I fully believe the woman that came out against Dom and said she was sexually assaulted by him. I got consent to post the video, but even though I got consent, I should have never posted it. What I understand now…is she sent that text because she felt like she had to, not because she wanted to, and that’s f–ked up. And I’m sorry,” he explained.

“I was completely disconnected from the fact that when people were invited to film videos with us, especially videos that relied on shock for views or whatever it was that I was creating an unfair power dynamic, I did not know this before. It was completely wrong. I didn’t know what was going on in that room and I should’ve been there.”

He also discussed women who had made allegations back in 2018: “I’m sorry I didn’t listen to you guys. I’m sorry that I took Dom’s word for what happened in those certain situations and I didn’t believe you.”

“Not only did I not believe you, but I made a joke of what kind of a person Dom was because I couldn’t wrap my head around a childhood friend of mine doing this to people. Not only didn’t I discredit you Ali, but I platformed Dom, and I platformed sexual assault in a negative way where I made jokes about it and I reinforced that kind of behavior. I really let you down, and a lot of people down.”

“I didn’t go back to any of these women and apologize. I kind of moved on and I learned from it, but I didn’t address the situation. I didn’t reach out to any of these people, and it breaks my heart knowing that I was doing all this stuff while there were people still really hurt by what I made,” he continued.

“It was cowardly of me to say in my last apology I ‘missed the mark’…because it’s f–king gross, and I’m sorry.”

“It doesn’t feel right to go back to posting like I have been, and it doesn’t feel right to go dark because I love what I do. But I feel like it’s important to show that change is possible and I’m learning. Maybe even forgiveness is possible,” he said of taking a break from social media.

The video comes as several brands announced they are ending their partnerships with the YouTube star.

Brands Drop David Dobrik Amid Vlog Squad Allegations

David Dobrik is facing some fallout.

The 24-year-old YouTuber is losing some brand deals amid misconduct allegations, E! reported Sunday (March 21).

The move from the brands comes amid allegations of misconduct against David‘s Vlog Squad, including a woman who spoke out about Vlog Squad member Dominykas Zeglaitis, and alleged she was sexually assaulted.

David then uploaded a video talking about consent in his videos and his relationship with former friends, including Dom.

“Whether I’m shooting with a friend or shooting with a stranger, I always make sure that, whatever the video I’m putting out, I have the approval of that person.”

He also said he “chose to distance” himself from Dom and other former associates who are no longer part of his circle because he doesn’t “align with some of the actions and I don’t stand for any kind of misconduct, and I’ve been really disappointed in some of my friends, and for that reason I’ve separated from a lot of them.”

“Anyone who knows him knows he does not condone misconduct in any form. Vlog participants provide consent before anything is posted. Whenever consent is retracted, posts are removed. Any insinuation of wrongdoing is inaccurate and defamatory,” his lawyer also said in a statement to E!.

Brands including DoorDash and HelloFresh have confirmed they’ve ended the partnership amid scandal.

“DoorDash profoundly condemns the behavior of the Vlog Squad members, and we have terminated our sponsorship of David Dobrik‘s podcast Views. This horrific misconduct is incongruous with DoorDash’s values and does not represent the communities we strive to create. Our thoughts are with all those impacted,” DoorDash said to the outlet.

“We can confirm that we are no longer working with David Dobrik or any member of the Vlog Squad, and do not have any plans to work with them again in the future,” HelloFresh said in their own statement.

“We are aware of the allegations against David Dobrik. We haven’t worked with David since April 2020 and can confirm we are not currently working with him nor do we have any plans to in future,” an EA Sports spokesperson said in a statement to E! News.

Dollar Shave Club told The New York Times they were ending their partnerships with David.

“We’ve made the decision to end our relationship and cancel all planned activity,” they said.

SeatGeek is “reviewing” its partnership with David now, according to Business Insider.

David Dobrik Apologizes Following Vlog Squad Sexual Assault Allegations

David Dobrik is reacting to allegations.

The 24-year-old YouTuber issued an apology video on Tuesday night (March 16), addressing allegations that a member of his “Vlog Squad” drugged and raped an extra from a video shot in 2018.

The anonymous accuser “Hannah” came forward to Business Insider, claiming 23-year-old Vlog Squad member (better known as Durte Dom) got her drunk when she was 20 years old and sexually assaulted her after she came to the group’s house to film. She has not yet contacted the police, according to the report.

In the apology video, David said “consent is something that’s super, super important to me.”

He also spoke to claims made by former Vlog Squad member Joseth “Seth” Francois, who said he was tricked into kissing YouTuber Jason Nash in a video, and claimed he was told that he was being blindfolded to kiss a female member of the Vlog Squad.

“In my case, it’s blatant… the point of the video [was] to sexually assault me,” he said in the allegation.

“With the Seth situation, I’m sorry to Seth, because like I said, I just want to make videos where everybody in it — whether you’re participating or watching — is enjoying and having a good time. And I missed the mark with that one. And I’m really sorry. I truly, truly am.”

David went on to say that actions speak louder than words, and he will “show you and prove to you the mistakes I made before won’t be happening again.”
