Jennifer Grey Confirmed to Star in New 'Dirty Dancing' Movie!

It has been confirmed that a new Dirty Dancing movie is in the works with Jennifer Grey returning to reprise her role as Frances “Baby” Houseman.

Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer confirmed the news during an earnings call and he joked that the movie was “one of the worst kept secrets in Hollywood.”

The news about the movie was leaked to the press a couple weeks ago.

“It will be exactly the kind of romantic, nostalgic movie that the franchise’s fans have been waiting for and that have made it the biggest-selling library title in the Company’s history,” Feltheimer added (via Deadline).

The first Dirty Dancing movie, which starred Grey and Patrick Swayze, hit theaters back in 1987 and grossed $218 million worldwide on a budget of just $5 million. A sequel, Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights, was released in 2004, but it wasn’t a hit.
