'Enchanted' Sequel 'Disenchanted' Begins Production, Disney Reveals Full Cast List - See Who's Returning!

Disney has just revealed that Disenchanted, the sequel to Enchanted, has finally started filming and will debut next year on Disney+!

While no exact premiere date was announced, the studio did announce who will be back for film number 2.

'Enchanted' Sequel 'Disenchanted' Adds Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown & Jayma Mays In Mystery Roles

Disenchanted has added a whole lot of star power!

According to Deadline, the sequel to Enchanted has added Maya Rudolph, Yvette Nicole Brown and Jayma Mays to the movie.

The site says that all three actresses might be portraying evil and villainous roles.

In the original movie, Susan Sarandon played the Evil Queen and it’s unlikely she’ll return as her character was consumed in a green glowing fire, and eventually fell to her death.

Maya, Jayma and Yvette will join returning stars Amy Adams, Patrick Dempsey, Idina Menzel and James Marsden in the upcoming movie.

Idina Menzel & James Marsden Are Returning 'Enchanted' Sequel, 'Disenchanted'

It was just confirmed by composer Alan Menken that two more original stars of Enchanted will be returning for the sequel, Disenchanted.

In a new interview, he revealed that not only are Amy Adams and Patrick Dempsey returning, but so are Idina Menzel and James Marsden.

“Amy Adams is in it, Patrick’s in it. Idina Menzel’s in it… Jimmy Marsden. They’re in it,” Alan said, before adding that the movie is the middle of filming right now.

Idina and James played Nancy Tremaine, and Prince Edward, in the original 2007 movie, who ended up getting married in the animated realm of Andalasia.

There’s no word yet if Susan Sarandon, who played Edward’s evil stepmother Narissa, will be back as well.

The first movie grossed over $340 million worldwide and received three Oscar nominations, all in the Best Song category for Alan and Stephen Schwartz‘s songs.

Disenchanted is slated for a Disney+ premiere.

Patrick Dempsey Confirms He's Returning for 'Enchanted' Sequel 'Disenchanted'!

Patrick Dempsey just confirmed some amazing news – he’s returning for the sequel to Enchanted, titled Disenchanted! He played the role of Robert Philip in the first movie.

“I just got this script for the second movie, and then I’m starting to go through and get notes together,” Patrick said during his appearance on Good Morning America on Thursday (January 14). “There’s talk that we’ll be shooting that in the spring, which is exciting.”

Amy Adams is so amazing in that film,” he added about the original 2007 movie. “It was a fun project to be a part of.”

The film is set to debut on Disney+, but it does not yet have a release date. Amy will be reprising her role as Giselle.

It has been confirmed that Amy Adams will be starring in a sequel to her 2007 movie Enchanted!

The upcoming movie will be titled Disenchanted and it is being made for Disney+, the studio’s streaming service.

Not much else is known about the project, other than Amy returning to her role as Giselle. In the first movie, she played a cartoon princess who landed in live-action New York City.

The first movie grossed over $340 million worldwide and received three Oscar nominations, all in the Best Song category for Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz‘s songs.

No word yet if Patrick Dempsey, James Marsden, or Idina Menzel will be returning for the sequel, though we hope they do!

Here's an Update on 'Enchanted' Sequel 'Disenchanted'!

We have an update on the highly anticipated sequel to Enchanted – currently titled Disenchanted!

Director Adam Shankman said, “We are handing in a script in a couple weeks that I’m super happy with. Then gotta get the music written.”

“The fundamental story has changed a little bit, but not from the base story of it,” Adam added (via EW). “It’s about Giselle 10 years later going, ‘What is happily ever after?’”

The film has been in the works for years after the 2007 hit debuted. Amy Adams will be returning as her character, Giselle, and it’s rumored that Patrick Dempsey and James Marsden will also be returning.
